It contains relevant information useful for local government budgeting purposes, including descriptions of revenue sources, estimated revenue distributions, and population estimates.

It is prepared, published, and distributed annually by the LCIR with technical assistance provided by the Department of Revenue’s Office of Tax Research.

• Prepares the estimated revenue distributions of state-shared revenues and local option taxes.

• Furnishes data used by LCIR staff to prepare or update several data tables.

government revenue sources, including the summarization of relevant changes to general law provisions affecting those sources.

• Formats the data tables furnished by the DOR and prepares other accompanying data tables.

• Coordinates the report’s printing, maintains the report’s mailing lists, and prepares the reports for mass mailing.

In order to assist local governments with meeting their statutorily and program mandated reporting requirements, LCIR staff has compiled the following charts related to:

•Local Government Financial Reporting Requirements (Chart 1)•Local Government Truth-In-Millage (TRIM) Compliance Requirements (Chart 2)




Each chart lists:

(1) the due date (if specified);

(2) the title of the required report;

(3) the statutory or Administrative Rule authority; and

(4) the current contact person in state government to whom the report is submitted,

for each reporting requirement in a calendar format.
