Florence by Design crea oggetti unici utilizzando vari tipi di essenze di legno, provenienti da foreste Italiane ed Europee, e legni fossili le cui caratteristiche sono esaltate dal nostro lavoro.Olmo, cedro, wengè, olivo, quercia, noce sono i nostri protagonisti. La fluidità della resina trasparente ci consente di esaltare e sottolineare la bellezza del legno, in modo da creare l’incontro tra un sapore antico e la purezza e la semplicità della resina, in una perfetta alleanza tra arte e design.
Florence by Design creates unique objects using many kind of wood essences coming from Italian and European forests and fossil woods whose features are exalted by our work.Elm, cedar wood, wengè, olive, oak, walnut are the leading actors. The fluidity of the clear resin allow us to exalt and underline the beauty of the wood itself, so its ancient taste meets pureness and simplicity of resin in a perfect alliance of art and design.

To create these one of a kind, and interesting piece of art, Florence by design utilises many different types of wood species with its own natural characteristics that is carefully chosen and enhanced by the craftsmanship of our Artisans, giving each piece a unique personality that we call “Natural luxury”.

After a long natural drying process, Florence by Design’s wood pieces are ready to be crafted. Designers will now work on several drafts and drawings before our Artisans can finally bring to life our master pieces.

Ecco il primo esempio della nostra Arte: tavolo di 5 metri, le due sezioni in legno di rovere sono unite da resina trasparente, mentre la superficie del legno è trattata ad olio naturale.
Here is one more example of our “Natural Luxury” collection: five meters long oak table, with two sections made with oak wood that are united by clear resin. The entire wood surface has been treated with a special blend of natural oils.

Frammenti di antico olivo sapientemente composti per creare un mondo virtuale.La resina è colata in tutti gli interstizi al fine di esaltare le caratteristiche del legno, mantenuto integro con la corteccia ed ottenendo uno stupefacente effetto di tridimensionalità.La base è parte del tronco originale, per una sensazione di “ritorno alla natura”.
Ancient olive wood's pieces are wisely placed into the resin, creating a virtual world. The resin is poured in every natural cavity to enhance wood 's magnificence, keeping its own bark and obtaining a stunning three - dimensional effect. The base is a part of the original tree: this is indeed the “return to nature”.

In questo tavolo in rovere , un perfetto taglio a 45° per ottenere un effetto di continuità del legno. La stessa tecnica è stata applicata anche alla resina per essaltare la trasparenza cristallina del bordo del tavolo.
In this oak wood table, we make a perfect 45° cut to obtain the continuity of the wood. The same technique has been applied also to the resin, to exalt its crystal transparency.

Il bog oak è una quercia che è rimasta sepolta in paludi di torba per centinaia, talvolta migliaia di anni.La sua colorazione caratteristica è determinata dai tannini disciolti nell’acqua. Il bog oak rappresenta le prime fasi della fossilizzazione del legno.Si tratta di una rara tipologia di legname che è paragonabile ad alcuni dei legni tropicali più duri e costosi al mondo.
The “bog oak” is a piece of wood that has been buried in a peat bog for hundreds and sometimes thousands of years.The wood is usually stained brown by tannins dissolved in the acidic water. Bog-wood represents the early stages in the fossilization of the wood.It is a rare form of timber that is "comparable to some of the world’s most expensive tropical hardwoods”.

The very famous poles that once were points of reference for ships navigational maps, today are marked by the “Teredine Navale , a Mollusk that through its patience and long work make perfectly round holes giving the wood a intriguing and peculiar but extremely unique and awesome design.
Un pezzo di Venezia a casa vostra
Eterna Venezia, le “bricole”e la loro seconda vita: un passato immerso nell’acqua lagunare, un futuro come promessa del design. Florence by Design propone la serie di tavoli e complementi realizzati con ”bricole”e resina. I famosi pali che delimitano la navigazione nei canali, vengono scolpiti a fondo dalla “TeredineNavale”, un mollusco che attraverso un lungo lavoro fatto di buchi perfettamente circolari, lascia il segno delsuo passaggio, facendo assumere al legno forme e disegni molto suggestivi.
