– floral foam (most widely used)
• AKA: Oasis
• soft, very absorbent, and lightweight
– chicken wire (support large, heavy stems)
– pins/picks• holds a single flower
in place

– waterproof tape• secures oasis in the container
– stem wrap (floral tape)• stretchy, sticks only to itself
• used in corsages, for hiding wires
– floral clay• sticky, similar to Play-dough
• anchors pins and prongs against containers
– hot glue

• used on stems only (keeps from dulling)
– Florist Shears• can be used on stems - but
it pinches them (damage to xylem)
– Ribbon Shears– Wire Cutters
