Flood in Thailand
This is my report about flood in Thailand. Since we already knew
that
flood comes from Northern of Thailand. There are about 21
provinces that
are affected by flood. Now the flood comes near Bangkok and some
part ofBangkok are already flood. Since Im the one who lives in
Pratumtani,
Lamlukka, now Lumlukka klong6 not yet flood and it just coming
by drain and
underground water.
Prime minister Yingkuk Shinnawatra warned that there was a
chance
50/50 for Bangkok to flood. The thing that I see is now they
just start to open
water gate so that all the water around the area will be equal.
If they just
always block the waterways, the water will have more forced to
push and
break down all barriers. And now the water is already comes
around the
Bangkok. They just said that they want water to comes and
quickly flow intothe sea after flow through Bangkok. The long they
keep the water, the more
damage will happen.
Some just said that the news may be true or may be not. On my
own
thinking that I went to see water gate and the barriers that
they bring to
protect at klong 8-9 Lumlukka, Im thinking that some of them
were not telling
the truth. Flood Relief Operation Centre (FROC), which located
at Don Mueang
Airport still flood, even they supposed to be the one who help
others.
The prime minister said that the water will remain in Bangkok
for at least
two weeks or may be until a month but the situation would not be
as bad as
many provinces, some of which have endured higher floods for two
or three
months.
In one day water can travels about 10 kilometers. The thing that
I know
is the government usually release the water at night time, Thats
why the water
can easily get into their house without knowing. The barriers
that they use
might not as good as they can protect Bangkok from flooding,
because they
just only put the barriers until kolng8, and still water can
comes into klong6.
Klong6, Lumlukka is where it meets with Bangkok at Nimitmai, Min
Buri, Klong3 wa, and comes to Kannayao easily. And now Nimitmai
road some were
already flood with the height same as footpath.
Now water comes through Bangplad, it can come very quick. All
the
Bagkok was attacked by flood. Vipawadi and Laksi water are also
ready to
come. They evacuate to other provinces of Thailand that are not
yet flood, but
some are concerned about their homes. The one who lived near the
water
should move of put thing in a higher place.
We already knew that the water is not yet stable, so we should
watch
the situation carefully.
