TECHNICAL DATA SHEET PUBLISHED AUGUST 2011

    FLO-GROUT 1General purpose cementitious grout

    PRODUCT FEATURES

    Flo-grout 1is a single pack, high strength, non-shrink,cementitious grout.

Flo-grout 1 consists of a blend of modied specialcements and ne graded aggregates. It is free fromcorrosive substances and chlorides.

Flo-grout 1 has excellent ow properties and has apositive expansion during setting. It is designed for gap

widths of 10 100mm, but may be bulked out for widergaps.

The expansion and strength properties of Flo-grout 1

make it ideal for the assembly grouting of machine beds, tracks, crane rails and transformers. The material is alsosuitable for grouting of stanchion bases, struts, railingsand guardrail assemblies

    MATERIALS SUPPLIED

    25 kg paper sacks.

    STORAGE

Protect from frost and store under dry warehouseconditions at a temperature between 10C and 30C.

When stored as above, and used within 6 months of thedate shown on the packaging, the activity of the reducingagent added will be maintained and the mixed productwill contain no more than 0.0002% (2ppm) solublechromium (VI) on the total dry weight of the cement.

    SHELF LIFE

12 months in unopened bags and stored under goodconditions.

COVERAGEA 25 kg bag using 4.1 litres of clean water will yieldapprox. 13.3 litres.

    SPECIFIED THICKNESS RANGE

    10 100mm in a single layer.

For greater thicknesses 2 6mm washed and driedpea gravel should be added to the Flo-grout 1 at 1:1

    by weight.

    APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

    SURFACE PREPARATION

The substrate should be sound, clean and free fromcontamination. Concrete and steel surfaces should be

mechanically etched to ensure good bonding. Removablemetal shims should be lightly coated with suitable release

    oil or grease.

Pre-soak the concrete surface with clean water for aminimum of 4 hours before grouting. All surplus watermust be removed before grouting.

    MIXING

The following water additions should be used dependingon the required consistency:

Flowable: 4.1 litres per 25 kg bag

Fluid: 4.4 litres per 25 kg bag

1 - 2 bags of material should be slowly added to themeasured quantity of water whilst mixing using a slowspeed drill and power whisk. Mix for 3 - 5 minutes.Allow to stand for 1 minute before use. Larger quantitiesshould be mixed using a high shear mixer. Do not mix

more material than can be used in 30 minutes. Do notuse colloidal type mixers.

    APPLICATION

Flo-grout 1 can be applied normally at temperaturesbetween 5C and 35C.

Good concreting practice with regard to placing at lowand high temperatures should be observed. For machine

base plate grouting, ensure that all bolt pockets are xedbefore grouting between substrate and base.

Continuous grout ow is essential. Sufcient materialmust be available to ensure continuity of the operation.Pouring should be from one side of the base plate toeliminate the entrapment of air. The pouring side should

be raised by means of a hopper or grout box to maintaina minimum 150mm head of grout at all times.

For larger applications Flo-grout 1 can be placed bymeans of pumping. The use of a heavy-duty diaphragmpump is suitable for this purpose.

Please contact our Technical Department for furtheradvice.

    WORKING TIME

Following mixing, material should be placed within30 minutes to gain the full benet of the expansionsystem.

    CURING

All exposed surfaces must be adequately cured. The useof Setseal 6curing agent is recommended. Alternativelywet hessian or continuous ne water spray may beused.

Shuttering should be struck after 24 hours. If the air

temperature has fallen below 5C, shuttering should beleft in place for at least 36 hours.

Do not place when the substrate temperature is below5C or when the ambient temperature is 5C andfalling. Protect from frost. Do not exceed the maximum

recommended water content and only use clean water.

The use of warm water is recommended at low

temperatures to accelerate strength development. At elevated temperatures, the use of cold water isrecommended.

    CLEANING

Wash tools with water immediately after use.

    HEALTH AND SAFETY

Refer to the product Material Safety Data Sheets beforeusing Flo-grout 1.
