Delta flight attendants are the best in the industry—that’s why we are committed to providing you an industry-leading package of total compensation, benefits and work rules as compared to our global competitors, American and United. These airlines have similar business models, scale, complexity, customer bases, employee size and worldwide market presence to Delta.
This document gives you transparent side-by-side comparisons on the issues you’ve told us you care about. No airline is perfect, but when we look at the big picture we think you’ll agree we have a great thing going here at Delta. We update and share this comparison annually to deliver the most up-to-date facts as part of our commitment to open, honest and direct communication.
Our people are the Delta Difference, and that’s why we continue to invest in you. All flight attendants received a 4% hourly flight pay rate increase on October 1, 2019 (the 12th increase in 13 years), and that’s on top of ongoing investments in work rules and pay components, many made possible through our partnership with the EIG.
This document uses known information as of December 31, 2019, in effect by February 1, 2020.

PAYSECTION 01:
2020 TOTAL COMPENSATION
5
SHARED REWARDS
Shared Rewards reflects the actual amount paid in 2019 and OAL payments for similar programs.
HOURLY RATE OF PAY
Hourly flight pay rates are based on an 80-hour month.
TOTAL CASH COMPENSATION
For each carrier = Base rate at top of scale (x 960 hours) + Profit Sharing (payout for 2019) + Shared Rewards (payout in 2019)
* AA flight attendants do not have a scheduled raise in 2020.
** United flight attendants are scheduled to receive a 2% increase on 9/1/20 ($67.11) and their current rate is $65.79.
PROFIT SHARING
Calculated by applying actual profit sharing payout percentage times the top-of-scale base rate for a 960 hour year based on base pay rates in effect during 2019.
For the average Delta flight attendant at the top-of-scale, profit sharing and Shared Rewards provided an additional 17.6% of pay for 2019.

*Paid to LOD program participants on each required language segment, even if LOD staffing requirement has been met. Flight attendants do not have to hold the bid language position to receive the LOD premium. ** Only paid to LODs holding specific LOD positions.
In May 2019, Delta added a new enhancement to the LOD program called LOD Short Staffing pay. When the targeted LOD staffing is not met, the compensation that would have been provided to the missing LOD flight attendant(s) is reallocated among the LODs who worked the flight and added to the standard $2.25/hour LOD pay.
Delta LODs have an opportunity to earn more in LOD pay because they do not have to hold the position to receive the pay.

SkyBucks is unique to Delta and represents a significant investment in our people. It is a performance-based incentive program to recognize and reward flight attendants for meeting specified performance metrics. This program recognizes outstanding performance on-board through our OnBoard Customer Satisfaction survey program when at least one qualifying customer satisfaction survey is completed.
New and improved in 2020— you have three ways to earn, including rewarding you for each and every 5 you receive in the Overall Flight Attendant Interaction category.
Earn an additional 5 Skybucks ($5) for each survey that rates the crew with all 5’s in every category.
A monthly $25 bonus program provides flight attendants with an opportunity to earn 25 extra SkyBucks ($25) for meeting targeted quarterly goals.

DELTA New in 2020: in any month when system schedule value (SSV) is 83 hours and greater: 40% premium to the hourly pay rate for qualifying hours flown between 90-110 for qualifying hours*
And in June, July and August, a 25% premium will be in place if SSV falls below 83 hours but remains between 81:00-82:59 (inclusive).
Delta’s override pay is the most generous and it’s unique in that it allows a top-of-scale flight attendant to earn an additional $27.84 per hour and the new hire rate is $12.38 per hour.
AMERICANDoes not have an override/incentive program
UNITED Pays $5/hour for all block hours flown in excess of 200:00 per calendar quarter, including vacation and deadhead to a maximum of 330:00, except that no incentive pay will apply for block hours in excess of 110:00 in a bid month.

DELTA Delta’s profit sharing plan for all employees is funded with 10% of profits for the first $2.5B of profits and 20% of profits in excess of $2.5B. On Feb. 14, 2020, Delta paid out $1.6B in profit sharing; pay outs for eligible employees equaled approximately two months of pay.
Are profit sharing payments 401(k) eligible? Yes. Profit sharing payouts are eligible for both fixed and matching 401(k) contributions from Delta.
AMERICANThe profit sharing pool is funded by 5% of eligible pre-tax profits for all employees.
Are profit sharing payments 401(k) eligible? Yes. Profit sharing payouts are eligible for both fixed and matching 401(k) contributions from American.
UNITED There are three plans; flight attendants receive less than pilots but more than agents. For flight attendants, the profit sharing pool is funded by 10% of eligible profits up to the adjusted pre-tax profit amount from the prior year and 20% on profits in excess of the adjusted pre-tax profit amount from the prior year.
Are profit sharing payments 401(k) eligible? No. Profit sharing payouts are not eligible for 401(k) contributions from United.
