OverviewUltra-compact SAV FlatStations supply instant hot water in individual dwellingsserved by central plant. It’s a safe, simple, cost-effective solution that’sengineered for high operational reliability. Creating hot water only on demand(just like a combi) maximizes the energy saving potential of a central boiler andmodern multiple heat source technology. Low return temperatures draw themaximum efficiency from condensing boilers, heat pumps and solar panels.
A single 59 kW Module can produce 21 litres of hot water per minute.
Partners in Technology
Termix - Part of the Danfoss Group leads the world in
instantaneous hot water technology – a logical extension of
its internationally renowned range of controls. This technology
makes a perfect synergy with SAV’s modular approach to building services and
enables us to develop solutions for British projects from apartment blocks and
sheltered housing units to schools and hospitals.

and Design Guide
Instantaneous Water Heaters
System Benefits
• Designed for low cabon systems - low returntemperatures
• Independent of the energy source – ideal for use with central gas, oil-fired boilers, CHP units, solar energy etc.
• Only three rising pipes required
• Minimum heat loss in circuit
• Enables accurate energy billing for individual apartments
• No hot water storage tank required
• No formation of lime scale in the heat exchanger
• Full heating comfort - and ample hot water on tap
• Minimum space required for installation
• Simple, but efficient design ensures high operational reliability

nWatchMan™ METERING AND MONITORING SYSTEMS
OverviewSAV Watchman metering and monitoring systems provide a low cost solution to building energy monitoring and management.
Energy is commonly wasted in buildings due to poor system operation e.g. heating systems that overheat the building, lights that are left switched on, hot water that is generated but never used, excessive flow temperatures etc. It is notunknown for such losses to account for up to 50% of a building's energy costs. In most cases, this wastage occursbecause it is not cost effective to pay someone to monitor and manage energy usage.
SAV's Watchman system is available in three formats. WatchMan Billing produces individual tenant invoices, automatically,on a monthly basis, WatchMan aM&T gives full energy reporting and targeting as well as an individual tenant invoicesand WatchMan Loadtracker gives 'real time' feedback on the status of the SAV CHP central plant system.
System Benefits
• Operators can view the data in the “big picture” of a whole building and at micro level in relation to an individual apartment.
• Automated meter reading combined with Watchman softwarecollects and validates the data. Data that needs special attentionis automatically “quarantined” before further processing.
• Validated data is automatically analysed. Checks ensure that thebuildings are functioning in an energy- efficient way, consumption data is controlled against budgets, and benchmarksare made between comparable buildings.
• Areas where efficiency doesn’t meet the expected are identified, and problems analysed by drilling down into the data.
• Accurate data leads easily to accurateenergy bills. All relevant information issent on to a billing system, whereinvoices are created.
Partner in Technology
The WatchMan team partners SAV Systems with NRGi of
Denmark, combining proven skills in systems engineering
with Europe’s finest energy management software and
systems support.
NRGi is now recognized as the leading Danish “Carbon
Consultant”. Its specialist divisions span the complete
range of energy solutions - from district heating schemes to biomass fuels,
from building energy management systems to low energy white goods.
The company is a front runner in developing systems and services that save energy

nWatchMan™ SOFTWARE
WatchMan™ BillingA simple yet powerful software billing package. Hosted by the SAV servers, access is gained via any internet connection using your own username andpassword. Once online any meter connected to the system, electricity, gas, water, energy etc can be seen and read, dating right back to when the system first became live. The meter usage can be viewed in tabular or graphical format. Manual readings can be added onto the system if required.
Each month a full set of tenant bills are automatically generated and sent via email to a designated address.
WatchMan™ aM&TBuilding on the Watchman Billing package, Watchman aM&T (automaticmonitoring and targeting) adds sophisticated energy monitoring andanalysis. The energy monitoring package increases the flexibility, strengthand energy saving capability of the Watchman software. Customisableenergy reports are the cornerstone of the aM&T system allowing the user to view the energy use and set budgets but importantly to also comparevalues between months, apartments, buildings, benchmarks etc.
The software allows for individually taylored bills or invoices to beconfigured. The invoice can include bespoke payment and address details and can also include company logo's and other additional bespokeinformation. Once configured, the software automatically generates a full set of tenant bills each month or quarter, as required, and can then email them to a designated address.
CO2 consumption can also be detailed and compared against target or budget.
The software also allows for alarms to be created and configured by the user. The alarms can take the form of an email or text message and canbe assigned to different personnel. The alarms can take many forms, as anexample, the software could raise an alarm should a daily maximum flowrate be exceeded, potentially indicating a leak. Alternatively an alarm couldbe triggered if the temperature of the primary flow drops, suggesting that the boilers have tripped etc. Often you’ll know of a problem beforeyour tenants!
WatchMan™ LoadTrackerFor more information, please see our LoadTracker literature.

Prepayment Systems
SAV offers a prepayment system for Pay-As-You-Go heating and hotwater for domestic properties. The tenant has a discrete prepaymentcard reader installed within their apartment which displays theirremaining credit and their meter reading. The display unitcommunicates wirelessly with a prepayment unit fitted to the heatingnetwork. The prepayment unit takes meter data from the apartmentsheat meter and when the customer has used all their credit, the valvewill shut, preventing the customer from getting into arrears.
The customer can initiate emergency credit, which ensures they do notrun out of heat whilst topping up their card. The card is topped up at alocal shop point. The top up is added to the credit on the system andany emergency credit is automatically deducted. Once the card istopped up, the valve will reopen. Changes in tariff are updatedautomatically when a customer tops up their card. The system includesa number of anti-tamper devices.
