Flashcard Friday List #6: Write each TERM (underlined and in bold) on the FRONT of your flashcard and the definition on the back. I will give you a ring clip to keep all of your cards together. When they are finished,
place them in your student portfolio
Front of note card Back of note card
1 Coefficient: The number before a chemical formula that indicates how many molecules are involved in a chemical reaction.
Example: 2H2 + O2 2H2O
2 Subscript: A number written slightly below and to the right of a chemical symbol that shows how many atoms of an element are in a compound.
Example: 2H2 + O2 2H2O
3 Divergent Boundary: A plate boundary where two plates are moving away from each other and a new crust is forming from magma that rises to the Earth’s surface between the two plates. Draw the example
4 Convergent Boundary: A plate boundary where two plates are moving TOWARD each other. If the 2 plates are of equal density, they usually push up against each other to form a mountain. If they’re not of equal density, one plate usually sinks (subducts) beneath the other. Draw the example to the left.
5 Transform Boundary: A boundary in which two tectonic plates scrape past each other, and crust is neither created nor destroyed. Draw the example
