AUGUST 25 - SEPTEMBER 6 FALL ORIENTATION 2012 FLAGLER COLLEGE OFFICE OF STUDENT SERVICES Tuesday – August 28, 2012 9 – 10 a.m. Convocation — Auditorium Convocation is for all students new to Flagler College and serves as the academic opening for the year. All new students must attend; professional dress is required. 10:30 – 11 a.m. Academic Department Meetings Students will meet with their department of interest. More information will be in the Welcome Packet. Meetings with Advisors Students will have appointments to meet with their advisors. Appointment times and locations can be found in the Welcome Packet already given at the Orientation Group Meeting on Sunday. 5 – 6:30 p.m. International Student Meeting Ringhaver Student Center This meeting in mandatory for all international students. You will meet other international students and learn about the rules of being an international student. Food and beverages will be provided. 7 – 9 p.m. Intramural Demonstrations Ringhaver Student Center Come see demonstrations of some of the intramural programs offered throughout the semester: Pilates, Zumba, and yoga. Sign-up sheets will be available. Thursday – August 30, 2012 7 -8:30 p.m. Club and Organization Night – Sevilla Street Students wanting to get involved on campus will have the opportunity to meet students from campus clubs, organizations, and activities. Sevilla Street runs in front of the Library and Student Center. Saturday – September 1, 2012 8:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. Disney Trip Buses depart from the front of the Ringhaver Student Center. Advanced registration required; please wear your Disney T-shirt. Thursday – September 6, 2012 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Day of Welcome – West Lawn Faculty and staff come together to welcome students with food and prizes while providing information on financial aid, add/drop, disability services, career services, and more. Students can ask questions and get to know the faces from various campus offices.

Orientation begins the academic year for all new Flagler College students. Flagler’s Orientation starts with Move-In Weekend and concludes the following weekend.

Saturday – august 25, 2012 Fall Move-in Day8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Resident Students Move-In - Residence HallsPlease see the “Fall Move-in Day” brochure for scheduled check-in times. If you need aStudent Identification Card, please visit the Ringhaver Student Center.

Noon or 3:30 p.m. Parent Orientation Meeting - AuditoriumThere will be two parent orientations; you only need to attend one. This meeting is for parents only. The administration will give words of welcome and advice about the upcoming academic year.

3 – 5 p.m. Parent Social - West LawnAll incoming Flagler parents are invited to an afternoon social on the West Lawn while students are in their Orientation Group Meetings. This is an opportunity to network with other Flagler parents and to meet the administration.

3 – 4 p.m. Orientation Group Meeting - Kenan HallYou can check your classroom assignment in front of the west entrance to Kenan Hall. This meeting is mandatory for all new students (freshmen and transfers).

4 - 7 p.m. Meetings with Student Accounts Students, who have been notified via a letter during the Orientation Group Meetings, will have time to meet with members of the Student Accounts staff to address any issues or concerns with their financial status. Student Accounts will be set up in classrooms P2, P3, and P4, which can be accessed from the Ponce Hall Breezeway. Computers are available in the Learning Resource Center, also will be located in the Breezeway.

5:30 – 7 p.m. Dinner and Final Room VisitsReconnect and have dinner either in the Dining Hall or Ringhaver Student Center.This is also the time for final room visits to take care of any last-minute organizing and private goodbyes.

7:30 – 8:30 p.m. Residence Hall MeetingsResident Advisors will be conducting meetings regarding the community aspects of the hall and facilitating interactions among the residents.

8:30 p.m. Welcome to Campus Event - Ringhaver Student CenterCome join the Campus Activity Board (CAB) and the Student Government Association (SGA) for a night of fun and excitement.

Sunday – august 26, 2012Noon – 2:00 p.m. Identification Cards - Ringhaver Student CenterFor those who have not yet received a student identification card.

1 – 2 p.m. Orientation Group Meetings All new students (freshmen and transfers) will report to Kenan Hall for OrientationGroup Meetings. Room assignments are the same as Move-in Day, but will also be available for review at the west entrance to Kenan Hall between 12:30 and 1 p.m.During these meetings, you will receive your Welcome Packet, which contains information about College Level Assessment times, and your appointment time to meet with your academic advisor.

2:30 – 3:45 p.m. All-Student Meeting - AuditoriumThis is required for all new students, boarding and non-boarding

3:45 – 4 p.m. Transfer Student Meeting - AuditoriumThis meeting is for all transfer students to learn what to expect while at Flagler and to learn how Flagler may differ from a previously attended college or university.

3:45 – 5 p.m. Tour Train Ride of St. Augustine - AuditoriumMeet in front of the Auditorium immediately following the All-Student Meeting.

5:30 p.m. Welcome-to-Campus Hawaiian Luau Pool/West LawnCome join CAB and SGA for a night of fun.

6:45 p.m. State-by-State Meet and Greet - GazeboCome meet the other new students from your state; internationals also.

8 p.m. Movie on the West Lawn

Monday – august 27, 20128 -2:30 p.m. College Level Assessment - Library

Group 1 – 8 a.m. Group 3 – 12:30 p.m.Group 2 – 10:15 a.m. Group 4 – 2:45 p.m.

Disney shirts will be handed out and immunization checks will be conducted in the library lobby as students exit the assessment. Student Accounts will also be present.

10 – 3 p.m. Pool ActivitiesCome out and enjoy inflatables and music by the pool and on the West Lawn.

5 - 7 p.m. Dinner at the St. Augustine Beach PierShuttles available at the Ringhaver Student Center. Shuttles begin running at 4:30 p.m.
