IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) is the common control infrastructure for real-time and non-real-time peer-to-peer multimedia services and any mixture of those

Siemens Communications and Time Warner Cable recently showcased fully integrated fixed line, mobile and WiFi broadband technologies via the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) designed to deliver fixed mobile convergence (FMC).

KPN has chosen Siemens as the strategic IP partner for its fixed network and mobile activities in the Netherlands, Belgium (BASE) and Germany (E-Plus) – for VoIP, IMS and FMC.

France Telecom: As part of their strategic alliance, France Telecom and Siemens established a first milestone in FMC. Orange UK and Wanadoo successfully tested IMS as a reference solution for future convergence applications. In this project, Siemens provided end-to-end expertise as an equipment supplier, combining solutions from the fixed network, mobile network and end-user device sectors.
