v i l l a s a r q u e o l ó g i c a sA collection of five beautiful hacienda-style hotels, each conveniently located nextto one of Mexico’s major archaeological sites including the famed ruins at ChichénItzá, Teotihuacán and Uxmal; all designated as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

Villas Arqueológicas’ portfolio of properties include Villa Cholula, Villa Teotihucán,Villa Chichén Itzá, Villa Uxmal, and Villa Cobá. Each hotel is within walking distanceof the celebrated Aztec and Mayan ruins. The five Villas were constructed in 1977,remodeled in 2000 and recently refurbished under new ownership. The Villas havebetween 42 and 44 guestrooms and are similar in construction, with identical guestroomsand amenities. In addition, each property has a central courtyard with lush gardens,a swimming pool and a terrace restaurant.

v i l l a c h o l u l aOnce an important religious center, Cholula is located on the outskirts of Puebla, apicturesque colonial city whose downtown area was designated as a World HeritageSite by UNESCO in 1987. The city is rich in examples of Spanish architecture. Dozensof churches and chapels built by the Spaniards, and the pre-Columbian monumentsthey rest upon, still stand today. Cholula is also home to the Great Pyramid, the world’slargest pyramid. Partially excavated, the Great Pyramid contains approximately fivemiles of tunnels displaying pre-hispanic murals. Above the pyramid, stands the beautifulNuestra Señora de los Remedios Church.

Villa Cholula is located directly across from the Great Pyramid. Here, along the Calzada de los Muertos, an ancient road at the center of thecity, guests will find the magnificent Pirámide del Sol (Pyramid of the Sun), arguablyMexico’s most recognized landmark. At the end of the Calzada de los Muertos, againstthe stunning backdrop of the immense Pyramid of the Moon, lies Villa Teotihuacán.

Remains of authentic Aztec structures can be seen along the property, blurring thelines between villa and archaeological site, creating a truly unique experience for theguests. Detailed mosaic tiles adorn the Villa and the sound of a cascading series ofwater fountains provide a tranquil and soothing background. The Villa’s 43 guestroomsare built around a central courtyard that features a large indoor pool and patiorestaurant. The Villa is located inside the archeological site.

Nearby, surrounded by tropical gardensand showered with the songs of exotic birds, is Villa Chichén Itzá. The Villa providesan oasis for guests exploring the ancient Mayan city. The 43 guestrooms overlook aninviting swimming pool accented by Mayan statues, ceramic-tiled floors and openarchways throughout the grounds. Veritable Mayan ruins dot the hotel gardens andprovide a sense of authenticity that is unparalleled. v i l l a c o b áLocated on the shores of a tranquil lake nestled in the heart of a lush jungle, Cobá ishome to an abundance of wildlife including turtles, crocodiles and an assortment ofmarine and bird life. Cobá is one of the few major Mayan cities that can still beappreciated in its original state. Many of the city’s estimated 6,500 structures still remaincovered by vegetation. Standing at 138 feet in height, the great “El Castillo” Pyramidis the highest Mayan structure in the Yucatan. The beautiful 79-foot “Iglesia” Pyramidand the remains of a pelota (“ball game”) court all make Cobá an impressivearcheological site.

Overlooking a serene lake, Villa Cobá is situated a short distance from the smallcommunity of Cobá and is just a 10-minute walk from the archeological site. Richlycolored tile flooring, authentic Mayan statues, and local pottery accentuate theproperty. v i l l a u x m a lAt the heart of the Yucatán peninsula, in a region that is rich in vegetation andabundant in bird life, stands the remains of one of the most important Mayan cities:Uxmal. The archaeological structures found at Uxmal are recognized as the mostimpressive accomplishments of the Maya people from the Golden Age of Maya art,which was between the seventh and eighth centuries. The “Oracle’s Pyramid” atUxmal is a key monument, striking both for the purity of its lines and its baroqueappearance.

Villa Uxmal is only a two-minute walk from the archaeological site.
