Faculty Advisor: Dale Johnson Office Hours: By appointment. Course Description The aim of the course is to get you to start thinking critically about your well-being. It seems that we are always told to eat healthy and to be physically active, but we are never told how! We have the desire to take care of our bodies and our health but there are so many barriers stopping us, whether it is a lack of knowledge of “how to” or simply just finding the time. In this course we are not only going to discuss some of the issues that prevent people from incorporating nutrition and physical activity into their lives, but we will incorporate exercises and problem solving techniques. We want this to be a fun and interactive course so we will leave a portion of class time for fun activities! Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced, everyone is welcome to join the course. Course Learning Objectives

Course Description The aim of the course is to get you to start thinking critically about your well-being. It seems that we are always told to eat healthy and to be physically active, but we are never told how! In this course we are not only going to discuss some of the issues that prevent people from incorporating nutrition and physical activity into their lives, but we will incorporate exercises and problem solving techniques. We want this to be a fun and interactive course so we will leave a portion of class time for fun activities! Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced, everyone is welcome to join the course.

imperative that you are on time. Three tardies will be considered one absence. A tardy is defined as coming in ten minutes late to class (after Berkeley time, ten minutes after the hour). However, we realize things come up therefore one excused absence AND one unexcused absence will only be allowed. More than one will lead to a NO PASS for the class. (Note: an extra make-up assignment will be required to make up the absence; speak to the facilitator presenting that week for more info.) Injuries or other medical reasons require a doctor's note/documentation.

Participation Class participation is key to learning and part of your grade. It is best to be proactive in the class discussions as well as be active in the activities presented in class. Lack of participation can lead to a NO PASS for this course.
