VALUEThe fitness assessment will serve your business at many different levels. First, the goal-setting
system will provide your studio with a high visibility banner that illustrates all of the members
of your studio. Secondly, it imbeds goals and levels of achievement within your program. This
is motivation for the kids and the parents alike. When the members are motivated, challenged,
and getting consistent feedback/encouragement, their desire to keep with the program will re-
main high. This means greater membership retention. Lastly, the fact that we have measurable
results will open the doors for the athletes, coaches/teams, and pediatricians. This will help
build credibility in your program with your members and your community.

APPLICATIONDuring the first week of a new membership, a one-on-one fitness assessment will be scheduled and
conducted. The initial assessment should last roughly 20-30 minutes, capturing the new member’s
baseline level of fitness. The one-on-one assessment will allow time for clear instructions, coaching,
and feedback, and ultimately breed confidence in the child moving forward. The results should be
explained following the test, and some small goals should be formulated. Always stay positive!
After the initial assessment, monthly mass testing will be conducted for all existing members. The
mass testing will take place on a single day (2-4 hours) where all of your coaches should be available
to help out. Your circuit will remain closed during the predetermined hours, dedicating your studio
towards the testing efforts.

GOAL SETTING BANNERThe purpose of the goal-setting banner is to assess, encourage, and coach the children toward their
goals and the gold. The levels of achievement are a visible way to chart their progress. The coach
should not anticipate or demand improvements in their numbers every assessment, as this would not
be a reasonable expectation. Even professional athletes plateau with their fitness level. Ultimately, we
want to see consistent effort, attendance, and the desire to improve. This is how a child will progress
toward the gold!

Distribute flyers and hang your banner in the window of your studio announcing the date, and remind 1.
kids and families as the date approaches. Have all of your ribbons, medals and certificates ready and
available to give upon completion of the test.
To sign-up for a test, a kid needs to tear off the bottom of the flyer, have their parent sign it, and return it 2.
to their coach. The coach will then grab the scheduling clipboard and find a time slot that works for parent
and child. Scheduling the kids 4 every fifteen minutes every other hour on the designated first Saturday of
the month
Follow the guidelines for administering the test found after this page.3.
Record the results on the assessment certificate of each child, including notes on the back if desired. 4.
Upon completion photocopy the certificate and give it to the child, the coach retains the original. There
is also an area on the front of the certificate where notes can be made on the copy and given to the child.
Such as “great improvment” or “practice the Fitwize 5”.
The following hour is to finish up with the kids, present them with their ribbons/medals in a quick 5.
ceremony and give the parent an update on progress. The ceremony makes the child feel special and the
parent proud.
A “Junior Coach” t-shirt will also be given for completing the 11-month goal-setting banner. Encourage the 6.
member(s) to wear his/her t-shirt to the studio, and to help assist other members in “junior coach” fash-
ion.
When a child tests for the level 1 for the second time (month 12), a JR. Kids Coach Frame should be 7.
placed behind their picture to support their achievement, determination and consistency in your program.
Follow with cleaning-up for the next group and prepare to start again!8.
After the day is done the achievment postcard is mailed out to every child. 9.
