“Women have sat indoors all these millions of years, so that by this time the very walls are permeated by their creative force, which has, indeed, so overcharged the ca-pacity of bricks and mortar that it must needs harness itself to pens and brushes and business and politics.”

- Virginia Woolf, A Room of One’s Own.

The inspiration of this collection is based on Virginia Woolf’s: A Room Of One’s Own essay. Notably a woman must have a room of her own.

Having the space and independence, yet setting out your own world within your own room can allow any kind of creativity to flourish. By night dreams are made, by day they can become real. Bedrooms are a place where all emotions such as boredom, sad-ness, comfort, elation, joy; can be expressed. A room to return to with freedom, as she

wills.

The fusion of florals as they inspire life & softness yet experience conflict.

Fitaa is described as White in the Akan (Twi) language of Ghana. White is used to show objectivity, purity and virtue.

Editor’s Note:Shooting the Fitaa Collection gave a chance to use the inspi-rations from my own room, my own hobbies and create some-thing new, vintage inspired yet minimal. Realising that there is inspiration everywhere and having travelled to France and

the homeland of Ghana it confirmed the ideas and stories which were told. Virgina Woolf ’s Essay still is very poignant for a woman today but it helped form a specific theme and colour (white) it helped us learn from the last collection.

We are excited to release Fitaa Collection as it gives us a chance to show more creativity at Brantuo Studio we aim to provide a vintage regularity and enhance the details through

every seam.
