Dear Members,
I look forward to the holiday season every year because it affords me an opportunity to spend time with loved ones and also to gear up for a brand new year. I don’t really “do” resolutions anymore, though, because anyone can resolve to do something once or twice. True change, however, involves analyzing what behaviors are necessary to make a change. It also requires accountability, a celebration of many small successes, and a splash of self-forgiveness when I may fall short.
I’ve worked in the fitness industry for 35 years and I see an influx of folks determined to shape up at the start of every year. When I see these faces, I am so thrilled that the Pavilion offers weight-loss solutions rooted in behavioral change theory and taught by registered dietitians and fitness professionals because I know we can help for the long haul. I also know we can help those who are at a healthy weight, but who want more intense training to gear up for a race or build muscle mass.
Before you set fitness goals for the new year, I would encourage you to take a look at your past behavior. Where have you succeeded? Where have you missed the mark? What has been a help or hindrance along the way? Then make an appointment for the free fitness assessment that is part of your membership and take advantage of our staff who can help you set realistic goals as well as construct a path to help you reach your goals.
May you be filled with joy this holiday season and may you find inspiration and motivation to be a better version of yourself in the year ahead.
In Good Health,
Deb Riggs
