The University of Georgia continues to be one of the best buys among colleges, especially when rankings consider both the low cost of attendance and the high quality of education received. Last year, UGA awarded more than $3.5 million in scholarships and awards from University Foundation funds to undergraduate students. Most academic (merit- based) scholarships for first-year students are awarded during the admissions process. Additionally, scholarships available through individual academic departments are typically awarded to upperclassmen, but prospective students can consult the Office of Student Finacial Aid’s scholarship hub Scholarship Universe by visiting osfa.uga.edu. PRESIDENTIAL LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPGiven to students with a record of strong academic achievement and a history of accomplishment and leadership in co-curricular activities. Georgia residents receive an annual $3,000 renewable scholarship. Non-residents receive an annual $3,000 renewable scholarship in addition to a Presidential waiver for non-resident fees, currently worth $19,040 per year.

CHARTER SCHOLARSHIPAwarded for outstanding achievement in academics and reflecting other criteria contained in the Philosophy Statement of Admissions. Annual $2,000 renewable award.

ONE UGA SCHOLARSHIPAwarded to academically strong students who provide diversity to UGA based on the university’s broad definition of diversity. Georgia residents receive an annual $1,500 renewable scholarship. Non-residents receive an annual $1,500 renewable scholarship in addition to a Presidential waiver for non-resident fees, currently worth $19,040 per year.

GEORGIA RESIDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

CHARLES MCDONALD BROWN SCHOLARSHIPGiven to academically superior students from Georgia with a record of strong academic achievement. Annual $5,000 renewable award.

CLASSIC SCHOLARSHIPNon-Georgia residents may be offered an annual, renewable scholarship, providing a waiver of tuition fees equal to half the differential between resident and non-resident costs. This is currently valued at $9,520 per academic year.

CLASSIC CITY SCHOLARSHIPNon-Georgia residents may be offered an annual, renewable scholarship, providing a waiver of tuition fees equal to the differential between resident and non-resident costs. This is currently valued at $19,040 per academic year.
