Children are ImportantYou may be asking yourself, “Why do we
need such a big handbook for our Children’s Ministry?” The answer is, “Because we are here to point children to Jesus.” During a regular week, we have close to 100 kids that enter our building between Sunday School and AWANA. In everything we do, our goal needs to be to point them to Jesus. In Matthew 18:5-6, Jesus gives us a glimpse of the role we play in the lives of the children, “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.” Children are important to God.
Nowadays, we don’t want to focus only on the children. Families and neighborhoods are broken, filled with selfish sinners in need of a savior. It is in light of this that the Children’s Ministry Leadership Team set out to create a document that would seek to protect the children, set parent’s minds at ease, and keep our wonderful volunteers safe as well. If, like me, you have children, grandchildren, or friends in the Children’s Ministry here at First Baptist, we ask that you check out our handbook and mark your calendars for our Children’s Ministry Forum on August 24, after the 11:00 service. We are going to take a look at our new handbook and discuss the ways we can “Point Children to Jesus”. If you are a parent, guardian, or children’s volunteer, we ask that you pick up a copy of the handbook and read through it over the next few months. Remember, children are important to Jesus, so they should be important to us.

YOUTH YARD SALEThe youth will be having their annual garage sale to help raise funds for their summer mission trip. The Sale will be on Friday and Saturday, June 6 & 7 at the Annex Basement.
This year the dates for the Youth Mission Trip will
be July 11-19. We will again be going to The Bottineau North Dakota area and will focus our outreach on the Turtle Mountain Reservation.
