Come to ourAnnual Mission DinnerYou and your family are invited to the annual all-church, covered dish Mission Dinner at 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 2nd, in the Fellowship Hall.

Timothy & & Jenelle McCown will be our guest speakers. Come and be inspired by Timothy & Jenelle’s vision to help share the gospel and minister to the people of Japan.

The dinner begins at 6 p.m. and the program at 7 p.m. The church will provide the meat and drinks. Please bring a covered dish to share.

The Youth & Adults will leave July 11th on the Bottineau North Dakota Mission Trip

Please pray for them and their adult leaders as they travel and that their hearts will be sensitive to the direction of God.

VBS Prayer Kick-Off SundayJuly 20 @ 12:15 pm

Carry – in potluck meal directly after service for VBS workers and anyone who can assist with decorating. All teachers are asked to be present. Need people who can help with decorating all areas that will be used for VBS.

July 20 @ 6 pmJoin us during our evening service for a VBS Kickoff and Prayer service.  We will come together as a body of believers to pray over the rooms, volunteers and children who will be here during VBS.

Children’s MinistryIn Matthew 18:5-6, Jesus gives us a glimpse of the role we play in the lives of the children, “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”  Children are important to God.  If, like me, you have children, grandchildren, or friends in the Children’s Ministry here at First Baptist, we ask that you check out our handbook and mark your calendars for our Children’s Ministry Forum on August 24, after the 11:00 service.  We are going to take a look at our new handbook and discuss the ways we can “Point Children to Jesus”.  If you are a parent, guardian, or children’s volunteer, we ask that you pick up a copy of the handbook and read through it over the next few months.  Remember, children are important to Jesus, so they should be important to us.

Thank you so much for all of your prayers. Gerald is recovering nicely. The stitches from the chest tubes came out on the 22nc and his final checkup & x-ray was on the 29th.

He was able to attend his normal activity except swimming. We must wait for the wound to heal completely. Thanks for all of your concerns, prayers, and cards.
