Problem Statement

According to the US Fire Administration in conjunction with FEMA: 46.5% of fatal injuries to firemen are due to heart attacks.

Monitoring of vitals will aid supervisors in preventing injury or death of first responders.

Tracking location will allow for rapid recovery of injured personnel.

Mapping of building’s interior will give fire fighters a better understanding of a hazardous situation.

Shortfalls of Current Solutions

PHASER:does not provide location data which is necessary to rapidly extract injured first responders.

GLANSER:provides location data but does not provide vitals.

HARRISGR100:provides mapping and location data however does not provide vitals.

Vitals MonitoringReal-time monitoring of vitals will help prevent life threatening conditions such as:

Heatstroke Heart attack

The fire fighter unit will monitor: Heart Rate Body Temperature Blood O2 levels

Tracking• Tracking of personnel in a

hazardous environment will allow for rapid extrication in the event of injury.

• Tracking will be accomplished by triangulation.

• Triangulation data will be used in conjunction with the mapping module to produce an interior model of the building.

Interior Mapping

The firefighter unit will be connected to a LIDAR

device which measures distances of objects from

the individual.

This data will be used to construct a map of the

interior of the environment.
