I t’s mighty curious that the energypolicies of nations are described as“climate policy,” but they are. Eu-rope, particularly Germany and thepartners of the European Unionhave been praised in recent yearsfor leading the way, setting an ex-ample for the rest of the world tofollow, with their so-called “energyrevolution.” It is up to them as tohow they want to power their cit-ies in the years ahead, but it seemsmore than a little ambitiously ar-rogant for it to be described interms of altering the world’s cli-mate. Nevertheless, recent yearshave seen them forge ahead on thebasis of such a theory, and receiveunabashed respect from the intel-lectual elite for their apparent fore-sight and resolve.

But their “energy revolution”that was to lead the way in solving“global warming” or “climatechange” seems to be bumping upagainst logistical and economic re-alities. Not that the planet wouldn’t

But alas, reality is apparently be-ginning to sink in.

Britain’s highly respectedEconomist publication has been allin favor of the artificial “carbonmarket” and the ambitious longrange plans to cut “carbon emis-sions.” But seeing the “carbonmarket” falter has left the editorialstaff at the Economist less thanamused, and those sentiments areshowing up regularly now in thestrait-laced style of reporting andadvising. Consider this header andheadline. European climate

policy—Worse than useless. There are more than a couple ofquotes that seem to sum up the situ-ation. Here’s the first. “Europeanclimate policy has two mainstrands. One is a carbon market toraise the price of pollution. Theother—to give an extra push to in-vestment, research and develop-ment in green energy—is a pro-gram for boosting renewable en-ergy through production targets andsubsidies on, for instance, wind andsolar power. Neither has worked.”They tell a tale of woe about sub-sidies having been way too costly, and the “carbon market” being allout of whack. “Carbon offsets”have become incredibly less expen-sive than the achievement of goalsset forth for reduced emissions. But in spite of the fact that thewhole concept is falling on its face, the Economist insists, “Thecontinent...has a responsibility toget the world to change its waysand to change its own.”

section titled Charlemagne/Europe’s energy woes, there are acouple more admissions that rep-resent a bitter pill for those who’veswallowed “global warming,”hook, line and sinker. “After yearsof crisis, Europeans are more con-cerned with the cost of climate-change policies than with their ben-efits. European industries pay threeto four times more for gas, and overtwice as much for electricity asAmerican ones...” Later on, afterbemoaning that “Europe’s carbonand energy markets are dysfunc-tional,” comes this worst case out-come from the writers of one of theworld’s most respected news pub-lications. “Unless Europe’s mar-kets are fixed so that emissionspermits, gas and electricity can betraded across the continent, evermore ambitious climate-change tar-gets risk becoming an ever moreexpensive failure.”

Wouldn’t it be awful if every-body were forced to admit, finally, after all the guilt-tripping, taxing, regulating, stimulating and subsi-dizing, that the whole thing was abust? You don’t suppose that the

M ost of us can only imaginethe sickening pain AmericanMarines feel at the sight of thephoto we used on the cover ofthis issue. It was November of2004 when they began to fightvaliantly in these same streets atgreat cost (nearly 100 dead andmany hundreds wounded) to ridFallujah, Ramadi and the rest ofthe Anbar province of murder-ous insurgents. Many of the es-timated 2,400 American casual-ties in Iraq were sustained inthose battles.

Their efforts to bring peaceand calm to this area by 2008were regarded as one of thegreatest accomplishments of theIraq war. As many have testi-fied recently, none expected tosee their sacrifices renderedmeaningless by a complete take-over of Islamic terrorists. But

Heartbreaking Ignominy in Iraqand the resurgence of al Qaeda

that is exactly what has tran-spired in the wake of an abruptpull-out of American forces inDecember of 2011, with Iraqitroops ill-prepared to keep thepeace.

The U.S. presidential cam-paign of 2012 saw the incum-bent boast of the withdrawal offorces from Iraq as if that in it-self represented a great accom-plishment. Not only that, but binLaden was dead and al Qaeda

was well on the way to defeat! It turns out only half of thatstatement was true. It is alQaeda now flying their blackflag over soil Americans bledand died for. How must that af-fect the morale of those stillserving in our military forces?

We don’t have to guess as tothe effect on the morale of thosewho sacrificed so much in thebattles in Anbar province. They’re now left feeling as

though the greatest toil of theirlives has been rendered utterlymeaningless. Parents who lostsons and daughters are left withthe feeling that their belovedchildren died for nothing. Ma-rines, many of whom are stilltrying to put their lives back to-gether, physically and mentally, say they are nauseated, just sickat the realization that it was allfor nought.

Most thought they had ac-complished something trulygreat, clearing out insurgentfighters and terrorists, street bystreet, building by building, giv-ing the civilians an opportunityto exist in a peaceful and orderlyenvironment. Our troops builtroads, new schools, clinics andPolice stations. Some estab-lished close relationships withsome of the locals while theywere there, and have recentlytried, mostly unsuccessfully, toreestablish contact in the wakeof the recent news of the alQaeda takeover. Iraq looks to bedescending into a protractedcivil war much like the one on-going in Syria, and it lookslikely to spread. It is hard toimagine a worse outcome to themonumental efforts and expen-ditures by the United States.

But that is not where the trag-edy ends. A similar outcomeawaits Afghanistan, whereAmerican forces have been pre-vented from “winning” by in-credibly stringent rules of en-gagement. From all availableinformation, U.S troops arelargely confined to clearingroadways of explosive devices, protecting diplomatic efforts

and preparing for most U.S.troops to leave later this year.

There is undefined talk ofleaving a residual force behindto protect against the kind ofoutcome we’re seeing in Iraq, but it’s hard to be optimistic. The Afghan government hasproven to be a corrupt sham, andthe radical Taliban aren’t aboutto throw in the towel with a U.S.exit looming.

The past five years have wit-nessed a resurgence of radical

Believe it or not, it was manycenturies before the false, apos-tate church was finally able tostamp out the celebration of thePASSOVER and the Days of Un-leavened Bread!

Actually, they never succeededin stamping it out entirely, andhistory proves there were scat-tered remnants of God’s truechurch observing the Passover, the Days of Unleavened Breadand the other annual holy days, all down through the centuries—just as there are latter-day rem-nants of God’s true church ob-serving those same days today!

There is a quotation from theCatholic Encyclopedia, in whichis mentioned the “controversy ofthe Quartodecimans.” TheQuartodeciman “controversy”raged throughout the Mediterra-nean world for literally centuries.

“Quartodeciman” is merelyanother word for “fourteenth”!The controversy stemmed fromthe insistence that the early NewTestament Church of God oughtto follow the custom of JesusChrist of Nazareth in observingthe Passover on the 14th ofNISAN; the first month of theyear, according to God’s sacredcalendar.

The pagan church graduallybegan adopting pagan customsand traditions, and began insist-ing upon standardizing the date

How Was Easter Substitutedfor the Passover?

for the observance for the springfestival.

The masses of pagans whowere being “converted” into thisnew religion brought with themtheir ancient customs of the cel-ebration of life; sexual reproduc-tion, fertility and worship of thesun. Their gods and goddesseswere those such as Isis, Osiris,Nimrod and Semiramis; Astarte,Ishtar, Tammuz and others. Apos-tate church leaders reason thesepagans had to be accommodated.

History absolutely proves thatpagan customs and ceremonieswere allowed, and merely givenChristian names. Those who in-sisted on continuing to observeGod’s annual Holy Days werePUT OUT of the apostate church!

Notice! “The first council ofNicaea (325) decreed that theRoman practice should be ob-served throughout the church. But

even at Rome the Easter term waschanged repeatedly. Those whocontinued to keep Easter with theJews were called “Quartodeci-mans” (14 Nisan) and were ex-cluded from the church” (Catho-lic Encyclopedia, article “Easter,”emphasis mine).

Interestingly, the Catholic En-cyclopedia subtly inserts the word“Easter” in its article under thatterm, even though the writer ofthe article knew NO ONE wouldever keep “Easter with the Jews,”for the Jews NEVER recognizedthis pagan custom. The CatholicEncyclopedia continually refersto the Passover as “Easter.” Notesome further quotes from thesame source:

“Easter eggs: The symbolicmeaning of a new creation ofmankind by Jesus risen from thedead was probably an inventionof later times. The custom may

have its origin in paganism, for agreat many pagan customs, cel-ebrating the return of spring, gravitated to Easter. The egg isthe emblem of the germinatinglife of early spring.

“The Easter rabbit lays theeggs, for which reason they arehidden in a nest or in the garden. The rabbit is a pagan symbol andhas always been an emblem offertility (Simrock, Mythology,551).

The Easter fire is lit on the topof mountains (Easter Mountain,Osterberg) and must be kindledfrom new fire, drawn from woodby friction; this is a custom ofpagan origin in vogue all overEurope, signifying the victory ofspring over winter.

“The Bishops issued severeedicts against the sacrilegiousEaster fires, but did not succeedin abolishing them everywhere. The Church adopted the obser-vance into the Easter ceremonies, referring it to the fiery column inthe desert and to the resurrectionof Christ; the new fire on holySaturday is drawn from flint, symbolizing the resurrection bythe light of the world from thetomb closed by a stone” (ibid).

What a shocking admission!Notice that even the Catholicsadmit that the ORIGINS of “Eas-ter” and even the name itself aretotally PAGAN! The rabbit is aPAGAN symbol! It is an emblemof FERTILITY!

Easter fires, lit on the top ofmountains, are “customs of paganorigin”!

“The church adopted . . . theEaster ceremonies”! Could any-thing be plainer? Let’s continue

with the same source:“EASTER CONTROVERSY: First

phase:“The dioceses of all Asia, as

from an older tradition, held thatthe fourteenth day of the moon,on which day the Jews were com-manded to sacrifice the lamb, should always be observed as thefeast of the life-giving pasch[Passover], contending that thefast ought to end on that day, whatever day of the week it mighthappen to be. However, it was notthe custom of the churches in therest of the world to end it at thispoint, as they observed the prac-tice, which from apostolic tradi-

states that St. Polycarp, who, likethe other Asiatics, kept Easter onthe fourteenth day of the moon, whatever day of the week thatmight be, following therein thetradition which he claimed tohave derived from St. John theapostle, came to Rome about 150A.D. about this very question, butcould not be persuaded by PopeAnicetus to relinquish hisQuartodecimen observance.

“The question thus debatedwas therefore primarily whetherEaster was to be kept on a Sun-day, or whether Christians shouldobserve the holy day of the Jews, the fourteenth of Nisan, which

tion has prevailed to the presenttime, of terminating the fast on noother day than on that of the res-urrection of our Saviour. Synodsand assemblies of bishops wereheld on this account, and all withone consent through mutual cor-respondence drew up an ecclesi-astical decree that the mystery ofthe resurrection of the Lordshould be celebrated on no otherday but the Sunday and that weshould observe the close of thepaschal fast on that day only. [Nosuch fast is mentioned in theBible.]

“A letter of Saint Ireaneus isamong the extracts just referredto, and this shows that the diver-sity of practice regarding Easterhad existed at least from the timeof Pope Sixtus. Further, Ireaneus

might occur on any day of theweek. Those who kept Easter withthe Jews were called Quartodeci-mans . . .” (ibid., emphasis mine).

Again, it must be noted in thislengthy quotation from theCatholic Encyclopedia that theyhave subtly substituted “Easter”for the “Passover.” What Poly-carp observed “like the other Asi-atics” was not EASTER! It was thePASSOVER, on the 14th of Nisan,as all the apostles had kept it.

That they admit he kept a greatevent “on the fourteenth day ofthe moon, whichever day of thatweek that might be — followingthe tradition which he claimed tohave derived from St. John theapostle” — absolutely PROVES

that the festival Polycarp (who

A re you aware of the comingFour Blood Moons?

Within the general public, among the media at large, the sub-ject of Four Blood Moons isscarcely known; is given next to

pastor of Cornerstone Church inSan Antonio, Texas and PastorMark Biltz, founder of El ShaddaiMinistries.

This Four Blood Moons theoryis uniquely religious and its in-

time Biblical prophetic fulfill-ment.

Equally important, they andmany other ministries postulate,Four Blood Moons is a harbingerof significant events that will oc-

no exposure. Anawareness of the sub-ject and its significancehas been getting trac-tion on the Internet andof course within manyChristian churches.Four Blood Moons isbeing fostered withinChristian circles, alongwith Messianic organi-zations and those asso-ciated with the preser-vation of the nation ofIsrael.

Websites such asWorld Net Daily, WorldWatch Daily, Red Moon Rapture,Jesus on My Mind and a host ofother Internet outlets and Chris-tian ministries are rapidly gettingon board, in their attempt to un-cover the mysteries of this soonto play out celestial phenomenon.Of late, Fox News and commen-tators, the likes of Glenn Beckhave given the subject coverage.A recent book entitled, FourBlood Moons — Something IsAbout to Change, written by JohnHagee, is capturing audiences.

Chief advocates of Four BloodMoons are Christian EvangelicalJohn Hagee, founder and senior

tention, prophetic. Hagee andBiltz would have you to under-stand the coming Four BloodMoons might very possibly ful-fill Bible prophecy, announcingthe second coming of, and thegreat and terrible Day of the Lord.As they explain, the Bible talksabout the sun turning to darkness(a solar eclipse they believe) andthe moon into blood (a total lu-nar eclipse, so they conclude),consequently, the coming FourBlood Moons, combined with themany social, economic, geo-po-litical and immorality factors ofour time, can only point to end

cur to the nation of Is-rael in the near future. What those eventsmight be specifically, neither Hagee nor Biltzcan tell.

Rooted in the con-cept of Four BloodMoons, giving this ce-lestial phenomena reli-gious footing, are thefollowing scriptures.Joel 2:30-31whichreads, And I will showwonders in the heavensand in the earth, bloodand fire and pillars of

smoke, The sun shall be turnedinto darkness and the moon intoblood before the great and the ter-rible (glorious) day of the Lord.

Acts 2:20; the sun shall beturned into darkness and themoon into blood before that greatand notable day of the Lordcometh.

Luke 21:25-26; and there shallbe signs in the sun, and in themoon and in the stars; and uponthe earth distress of nations, withperplexity; the sea and the wavesroaring; men’s hearts failing themfor fear, and for looking afterthose things which are coming on

the earth: for the powers of theheavens shall be shaken.

Revelation 6:12; and I beheldwhen he had opened the sixthseal, and lo there was a greatearthquake and the sun becameblack as sackcloth of hair and themoon became as blood.

Certainly, these scripturessound ominous and those whorespect Biblical prophecy willtake notice. Will the soon to comeFour Blood Moons really fulfillthese scriptures?

What are these Four BloodMoons or as they are also called,Red Blood Moons?

The term Four Blood Moonsis associated with two conditions;1) an astronomical event called atetrad and 2) specific Jewish HolyDays. Let us understand the de-tails.

An astronomical tetrad is de-fined as four consecutive totallunar eclipses (the earth’s shadowcompletely and totally coveringor eclipsing a full moon), with noother lunar eclipses in between. Each of the four total lunareclipses is separated from theother by five lunar months, whichis to say five full moons. Thosefive full moons have no associa-tion to either a total or partialeclipse. Each of the five is justsimply, a full moon. The four con-secutive total lunar eclipses arewhat are emphasized. A tetrad isa very fascinating and rare celes-tial phenomenon. From 1 AD un-til 2000 AD, there have been 54tetrads. In the 17th, 18th and 19thcenturies, there were no tetrads. In the 21st Century, there willonly be eight tetrads.

These soon coming four con-

secutive total lunar eclipses, which are being given so muchattention in religious circles, thistetrad, will occur on the follow-ing dates. In 2014, a total lunareclipse, the first, will occur onApril 14/15th. Then on October8/9th another, the second totallunar eclipse will occur. These arethe first two of the four consecu-tive total lunar eclipses, with nopartial lunar eclipses in between.

The next two come in the year2015, with the third total lunareclipse occurring on April 3/4th.And the fourth successive totallunar eclipse will occur on Sep-tember 27/28th. These four totallunar eclipses occur six lunar

moon will only reflect the colorsof light contained in the earth’sshadow. Those colors of light areof the red, orange and yellowspectrum. Consequently, a totallunar eclipsed moon will oftenlook reddish in the shadow of theearth. On other occasions the to-tally covered, eclipsed full moonwill look orangeish or the colorof pumpkin. But in general, to theaverage man, a total lunareclipsed full moon looks reddish, looking bloody, “kinda likeblood.” That fact is natural, logical.

You may ask, as do those withno religious or Jewish persuasion,so what’s the big deal? These to-

Continued on page 20

months apart from one anotherand in between each are five fullmoons; none of which areeclipsed.

These four full moons, thesefour total lunar eclipses are theFour Blood Moons. Why arethese four totally eclipsed fullmoons given a description ofblood?

A total lunar eclipse is oftencalled a blood moon, because itscharacteristics encourage that de-scription. During a total lunareclipse, the earth blocks the sun’slight as the earth’s shadow com-pletely (totally) covers (eclipses)the moon. There then is no directsunlight reflecting off the moon. The totally covered (eclipsed)

tal lunar eclipses are just the earthand moon and the sun doing theirthing, as they progress throughtheir clockwork-like, establishedand sustained patterns, year afteryear, decades and centuries ofconsistent, recordable, predict-able movement. And the color;isn’t that just simply the nature ofchromaticity?

That’s true but there’s more, say those who promote the FourBlood Moons. Tetrads don’t oc-cur very often. And regarding thedates — well, each is extremelysignificant.

Those four dates, on each ofwhich a total lunar eclipse will oc-cur, are significant to the Jew’s

What many Egyptians can-not understand is: Why is theU.S. Administration siding withthe forces of oppression in theircountry and assisting with itstransformation into a failedstate under the leadership of theMuslim Brotherhood? Egyptsimply cannot be allowed to be-come another Somalia or Af-ghanistan, controlled by its ownversion of the Taliban.

The Egyptian people are as-tounded. They simply do not un-derstand the Obama Administra-tion’s efforts to bring the MuslimBrotherhood back to power.

In an effort to make some senseof the Obama Administra-tion’spolicies, Amir Adeeb, a promi-nent Egyptian commentator, ar-gues that the U.S. is helping theMuslim Brotherhood to achievepower, in order to turn Egypt intoa magnet for jihadist fighters. Thegoal, Adeeb states, is to turnEgypt into another Syria or Af-

To Westerners, this may seemlike a bizarre conspiracy theory, but for Egyptians it helps explainwhy the U.S. government is sup-porting an organization that hasopenly declared jihad against theWest, engaged in threats of warwith Israel and Ethiopia, demol-ished dozens of ancient historicchurches, set hospitals on fire, andmurdered Christians in the streets. The Muslim Brotherhood has norespect for the rule of law, but theObama Administration treats theEgyptian military that removedthe group from power as a threatto democracy itself.

The Muslim Brotherhood gov-ernment under former PresidentMorsi threatened to wage warwith Ethiopia over this project. The fact is, the Ikhwan (as theMuslim Brotherhood is called inArabic) engaged in some prettyundemocratic behavior in theelection that brought it to power

in June 2012. Morsi lied about hisbackground, telling voters heworked for NASA when he didno such thing. He falsely prom-ised to spend $200 billion on anEgyptian renaissance only to say, once he was elected, that it wasjust an idea. He bribed voters withcooking oil, sugar, and medicine. On the day of the election, withthreats of violence, the MuslimBrotherhood stopped thousandsof Coptic Christians from voting.Further, in a little known aspectof the election, many voters com-plained of receiving ballots thathad already been marked inMorsi’s favor.

Egyptians were willing tooverlook these irregularities inhopes that Morsi would bring or-der and stability to their country. They hoped he would followthrough on his promise to build amodern Egypt; create jobs, andput together an inclusive govern-ment and constitution. Theyhoped he would honor his prom-

ise to spend $200 billion on re-pairing Egypt’s infrastructure aspart of an Islamic “RenaissanceProject.”

Instead, Morsi worked system-atically to dismantle the institu-tions of a 7,000 year-old country. He gathered his cronies to speakopenly, on national television, ofdestabilizing Ethiopia in a fightover the use of water from theUpper Nile River.

Morsi also straightforwardlystated that he was recreating anIslamic “Caliphate.” He pardonedand freed hard-line Islamists—in-cluding Anwar Sadat’s killers—and allowed them to have an Is-lamic political party, contrary tothe constitution, which bans reli-gious parties. When Morsi spoketo audiences, hard-line Islamistssat in the front row, demonstrat-ing that these people were hispolitical base.

To buttress the support of thisbase, Morsi released members ofGamaa al-Islamiyya, founded bythe “Blind Sheikh,” Omar Abdel-Rahman, who attempted the firstWorld Trade Center attack. Thisgroup, considered a terrorist or-ganization by the United States, killed over 60 tourists in Luxorin 1997. That history did not stopMorsi from appointing one of its

members governor of Luxor, overthe objection of local residentswho are dependent on tourism fortheir livelihood. Nor did it stophim from assigning another mem-ber of this group as Minister ofCulture. With these decisions,Morsi delivered a final blow toEgypt’s tourism industry.

And if people are not even will-ing to visit Egypt, how will theyinvest in the country?

The Muslim Brotherhood, however, apparently does notwant tourists from the West, eventhough they have been an impor-tant source of hard currency fordecades. It seems Sheik HazemSalah Abu Ismail, an ultraconser-vative Islamist and a member ofthe Muslim Brotherhood, hadasked Morsi to not allow West-ern tourists into Egypt, and to re-place them with tourists fromMuslim countries.

Life under the rule of Morsibecame impossible. For Egyp-tians, shortages of food, water, electricity, and medicine becamethe norm. In response, Morsi ap-peared on TV to ask for more time, another 10 or 15 years.

As Morsi started driving hiscountry into a civilizational ditch, some of the passengers rebelled.A grassroots movement called

“Tamarud” (“Rebellion”) mobi-lized over 30 million people, whotook over the streets of Egypt, andcalled for the removal of Morsiand his radical government. Theirlegitimate goal was to take thesteering wheel from a group ofmadmen who wanted to bringabout famine and take Egypt backto the dark ages. To prevent a civilwar, the Egyptian army removedMorsi and installed an interimgovernment with the support ofAl-Azhar University, the most re-spected Islamic authority in SunniIslam; the El Nour Party (an ul-traconservative group); theCoptic Church, and a number ofsecular parties.

Predictably, the Muslim Broth-erhood responded with threatsand violence, especially targetingthe Christians of Egypt. Membersof the Muslim Brotherhood shota 10-year-old Christian girl in thestreets as she returned home fromchurch. They beheaded a Chris-tian merchant, shot a priest inSinai and marched FranciscanNuns in the streets like war pris-oners. They burned Christianbusinesses, homes, and churches, especially the ancient churches inupper Egypt. Their goal was toterrorize Christians and erase allevidence of Egypt’s Christianpast. Apparently, destroying thecountry’s hope for the future wasnot enough.

This work of witness and warning marks its modern beginning in the United States withthe first radio broadcast of Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong in 1934. Since that time, through thevarious formats of media, and largely due to the successful efforts of Garner Ted Armstrong,we have done more to advance the knowledge of God’s Holy Days, His Sabbath and thereturn of Jesus Christ to establish the Kingdom of God on Earth than any other ministry orevangelical association in the world. Today there are hundreds of thousands in the UnitedStates and around the world who observe the seventh day Sabbath and faithfully keep theFeasts associated with the seven annual Holy Days. True, one has to be circumspect. Boast-ful, authoritarian ministries have also been spawned over recent decades which, while hav-ing the major truths, go on to claim divine authorities that would make HWA blush. Sodon’t just WATCH, watch out!

Truly, we live in a time in our homeland of the United States nobody saw coming, wheresin is sacred and national leadership promotes it tirelessly. The world is becoming frightfullymore dangerous, with the threat of Islamic terrorism poised to reach epic proportions asnuclear terror becomes a legitimate possibility.

This is an organization that has not strayed from doctrinal truth, has faithfully endeav-ored to provide for the “feeding of the flock,” in addition to keeping up with importantprophetic developments and making sure they don’t go unnoticed. As such, it’s our Eighti-eth Anniversary!

TEL AVIV — During his visithere recently, Secretary of StateJohn Kerry pressed Israeli PrimeMinister Netanyahu to come to anaccommodation to create a Pal-estinian state, with particular em-phasis on current talks focusingon the strategic Jordan Valley, ac-cording to informed Israeli andPalestinian diplomats.

The diplomats told WND thatKerry rejected a proposal byNetanyahu for an interim deal, in-stead expressing the Obamaadministration’s goal of a finalstatus agreement to create a statebefore 2016.

Netanyahu had proposed afive-year interim agreement inwhich Israel would give the Pal-estinian Authority sovereigntyover one-third of what is knownas Area C, territories in the WestBank currently under Israeli con-trol, the diplomats said. Israelwould still retain some securitypresence in those areas.

Netanyahu’s proposal furthercalled for an official PA presencein Jerusalem, the diplomatsadded.

During the five-year period, the PA would be required to takesteps to remove incitement fromofficial educational and mediamaterial and fully dismantle theterrorist apparatus in the WestBank.

The Netanyahu deal also calledfor the PA to lead a public cam-paign that would clarify that a fi-nal deal would be achieved withIsrael as the homeland of the Jew-ish people, meaning no so-called

right of return, the diplomats toldWND.

According to the Israeli andPalestinian diplomats, both Kerryand PA President MahmoudAbbas rejected Netanyahu’s pro-posal.

Kerry also asked Netanyahu tonot put any obstacles in the wayof a U.S. plan for the Palestiniansand international forces to assumecontrol in the Jordan Valley.

Last month, WND broke thestory that Kerry was pressing hardfor Israel to give up the strategicJordan Valley in a deal with thePalestinians.

The current round of U.S.-brokered talks is attempting tohash out the details of a plan forthe valley.

Kerry’s proposal calls for in-ternational forces to maintain se-curity control along with unarmedPalestinian police forces, the PAnegotiator said. Israel would re-tain security posts in some stra-

tegic areas of the Jordan Valley, according to the U.S. plan.

Previous talks incorporated anelement of Jordanian authority inthe Jordan Valley, but the King-dom of Jordan is suddenly waryof participating in a future Pales-tinian state, the negotiator said.

A Palestinian negotiator speak-ing to WND pointed to the insur-gency in Syria and changes ofleadership in Egypt as reasons forJordanian reluctance to assumeany security control over Pales-tinian areas.

The Jordan Valley cuts throughthe heart of Israel. It runs fromthe Tiberias River in the north tothe Dead Sea in the center to thecity of Aqaba in the south of thecountry, stretching through thebiblical Arabah desert.

The negotiator, meanwhile, said Kerry is urging an all-encom-passing final status deal on theJordan Valley, West Bank and

sections of Jerusalem, includingthe Temple Mount.

Israel, on the other hand, wouldrather have an interim deal to en-sure the Palestinians keep theirside of the bargain, according toinformed Israeli diplomaticsources.

Temple MountWND reported in July the

terms of the Obama administra-tion plan in which the Palestin-ian Authority and Jordan wouldreceive sovereignty over theTemple Mount while Israel wouldretain the land below the West-ern Wall, according to a senior PAnegotiator. The plan remains ineffect as the basis for negotia-tions.

The Temple Mount is the holi-est site in Judaism.

Israel has not agreed to the U.S.plan for the Temple Mount, withdetails still open for discussion, stated the PA negotiator.

The negotiator, who is one ofthe main Palestinian figures lead-ing the Arab side of the talks, fur-

ther divulged Kerry’s proposedoutline for a Palestinian state aspresented orally to Israel and thePA.

He said Jordan has been invitedto play a key role in the discus-sions surrounding both the TempleMount and Jerusalem while it willbe the PA, with some Jordanianassistance, that would ultimatelyreceive control of some of thoseareas.

WND was first to report in2007 that Jordan had been quietlypurchasing real estate surround-ing the Temple Mount in Jerusa-lem hoping to gain more controlover the area accessing the holysite, according to Palestinian andIsraeli officials.

Meanwhile, regarding the restof Jerusalem, Kerry’s plan is torehash what is known as theClinton parameters. The formula, pushed by President Bill Clintonduring the Camp David talks in2000, called for Jewish areas ofJerusalem to remain Israeli whilethe Palestinians would get sover-eignty over neighborhoods that

are largely Arab. Most Arab sec-tions are located in eastern Jerusa-lem.

WND previously reported thePalestinians are building illegallyin Jewish-owned areas of Jerusa-lem, resulting in Arab majoritiesin some neighborhoods.

When it comes to the WestBank, which borders Jerusalemand is within rocket range ofIsrael’s main population centers,Kerry’s plan calls for Israel toevacuate about 90 percent of itsJewish communities in the terri-tory.

Israel would retain strategic se-curity posts along with the WestBank’s main blocks, MaaleAdumin, Ariel and Gush Etzion. In return, Obama is calling for anexchange of territory with thePalestinians, discussion beingopen for the Palestinians to pos-sibly receive land in the Negev,in Israel’s south. ❏

EasterContinued from page 7

was a student of John) kept wasnot “Easter,” but THE PASS-OVER!

In the final paragraph of thequotation, the distinction is sub-tly drawn between “Christians”and “Jews.” Another obvious andflagrant misapplication of termsin the final quote: “Those whokept Easter with the Jews werecalled Quartodecimens . . .” Non-sense! They were called Quart-odecimens because they kept thePassover — and absolutelyshunned the pagan “Ishtar” (pro-nounced “Easter”) being adoptedby an apostate, increasingly pa-gan church!

Notice further:“ II PHASE: The second stage

in the Easter controversy centersaround the council of Nicaea(A.D. 325).

“The emperor himself(Constantine) writing to thechurches after the council ofNicaea, exhorts them to adopt itsconclusions and says among otherthings, ‘At this meeting the ques-tion concerning the most holy dayof Easter was discussed, and itwas resolved by the united judg-ment of all present that this feastought to be kept by all and in ev-ery place on one and the same day. . . And first of all it appeared anunworthy thing that in the cel-ebration of this most holy feast weshould follow the practice of theJews, who have impiously defiledtheir hands with enormous sin . . .for we have received from ourSaviour a different way . . . and Imyself have undertaken that this

decision should meet with theapproval of your sagacities in thehope that your wisdoms willgladly admit that the practicewhich is observed at once in thecity of Rome and in Africa, throughout Italy and Egypt . . .with entire unity of judgment.’From this and other indications . . .we learn that the dispute now laybetween the Christians of Syriaand Mesopotamia and is depen-dent upon the Jewish calendar forits Easter” (ibid., emphasis mine).

Remember, these lengthy quo-tations are from the Catholic En-cyclopedia! Constantine was a re-formed SUN WORSHIPER! Whenhe embraced “Christianity” heembraced the so-called Christian-ity of the leading bishops whowere already apostate! He did notembrace the Christianity prac-ticed by those who were “hold-ing fast to the faith once deliveredto the saints,” and who tena-ciously REFUSED TO CHANGE

the observance of one of the mostimportant annual Holy DaysJesus Christ ever hallowed, thePASSOVER!

Notice, in the quotation abovefrom Constantine’s exhortation tothe churches after the Council ofNicaea, that he, too, showed dis-dainful contempt for “the Jews”(who are accused of having “im-piously defiled their hands withenormous sin”) and he repudiatesthe “practice of the Jews,” mean-ing the observance of the Pass-over (The Lord’s supper, as theapostle Paul began to refer to it)on the 14th of Nisan, as it hadbeen observed for centuries!

At the end of the quotation con-cerning the development of keep-

ing Easter in the Catholic Church, the encyclopedia admits “the im-portant Church of Antioch wasstill dependent upon the Jewishcalendar for its Easter.” Again, adeliberate confusion of terms isutilized in a subtle attempt to mis-lead the minds of readers.

By no stretch of the imagina-tion were the converted brethrenin Antioch, in Syria, who were de-pendent upon “the Jewish Calen-dar” (meaning Abib, or Nisan,14), keeping “Easter.” By tena-ciously adhering to the 14th ofNisan, it is clear they were ob-serving the PASSOVER, and re-jecting pagan Easter!

Notice now the quotation con-cerning the “III Phase”:

“It was to the divergent cycleswhich Rome had successivelyadopted and rejected in its attemptto determine Easter more accu-rately that the third stage in thepaschal controversy was mainlydue.

“The Roman missionariescoming to England in the time ofSt. Gregory the Great found theBritish Christians, the represen-tatives of that Christianity whichhad been introduced into Britainduring the period of the Romanoccupation, still adhering to anancient system of Easter compu-tation which Rome itself had laidaside” (ibid., emphasis mine).

What a fantastic admission! Here we read of “Roman mission-aries” arriving in the British Islesfrom Rome, yet discoveringChristians in the British Isles ad-hering to the very same system ofdetermining the date for the PASS-

OVER as had always been ob-

served by the early New Testa-ment church!

Few have stopped to speculateon where all the other apostlesmentioned in the Gospels went. Most disappear from sight, andthe Bible quickly begins concern-ing itself with the ministries of,first, the apostle Paul and then tosome extent Peter and John. Butwhatever happened to Thomas;Simon the Canaanite; Mathias(who replaced Judas Iscariot);Andrew, Peter’s brother; Jamesthe son of Alphaeus (not the sonof Zebedee); Bartholomew; andothers?

Jesus plainly said He would“send them to the lost sheep ofthe house of Israel”! Is it strange, then, that peoples in farawaylands had been converted to trueChristianity, and were observingGod’s annual Holy Days on pre-cisely the correct dates, whichactually created a controversywith Roman missionaries?

Now, under the article “Coun-cils” in the Catholic Encyclope-dia, notice one of the most im-

portant purposes for the Councilof Nicaea:

“The first ecumenical, or coun-cil, of Nicaea (325) lasted twomonths and twelve days. Threehundred and eighteen bishopswere present. Hosius, bishop ofCordova, assisted as legate ofPope Sylvester. The EmperorConstantine was also present. Tothis council we owe the Creed ofNicaea, defining against Arius thetrue divinity of the Son of God,and the fixing of the date for keep-ing Easter [against the Quart-odecimans].”

Interesting reading, isn’t it?But how many of your friends andrelatives have ever taken the timeand trouble to simply read suchshocking admissions?

Remember, this is notsomeone’s “church doctrine” youare reading; it is not the cleverarguments of some cult or sectthat is trying to confuse your mindand “trap” you into observingsome strange customs! Instead, you are reading direct quotationsfrom historians!

That Easter is pagan to the coreis a matter of authoritative histori-cal FACT! Almighty God soundly

CONDEMNS the entire practice inthe Bible!

Of course, if there is no Godthe plaintive cries of “I don’t seewhat difference it makes,” or“Why should we take away suchjoyous occasions from the chil-dren?” seem to make sense.

But, since there IS A GOD, andsince that Eternal Creator God isrighteously ANGRY at instillingpagan customs in the minds ofour children which keep themfrom understanding the truth ofGod — it DOES MAKE A DIFFER-

ENCE!God says, “To him that

knoweth to do good, and doeth itnot, it is a sin.” Once you KNOW

the truth, you become responsiblefor it. Thus, in a very real sense, you have now been given danger-ous knowledge. It is knowledgethat, while readily available inany number of historical sources,is not known by a vast majorityof all mankind!

Hundreds of MILLIONS ofchurchgoing professing Chris-tians are blissfully ignorant ofthese startling facts!

T he EU’s reputation as amodel of environmental respon-sibility may soon be history. TheEuropean Commission wants toforgo ambitious climate protec-tion goals and pave the way forfracking — jeopardizingGermany’s touted energy revo-lution in the process.

The climate between Brusselsand Berlin is polluted, some-thing European Commissionofficials attribute, among otherthings, to the “reckless” wayGerman Chancellor AngelaMerkel blocked stricter exhaustemissions during her re-electioncampaign to placate domesticautomotive manufacturers likeDaimler and BMW. This kind ofblatant self-interest, officialscomplained at the time, is poi-soning the climate.

But now it seems that the cli-mate is no longer of much im-portance to the European Com-mission, the EU’s executivebranch, either. Commissionsources have long been hintingthat the body intends to moveaway from ambitious climateprotection goals. On Tuesday, the Süddeutsche Zeitung re-ported as much.

At the request of CommissionPresident José Manuel Barroso,EU member states are no longerto receive specific guidelines forthe development of renewableenergy. The stated aim of in-

Europe to DitchClimate Protection Goals

creasing the share of green en-ergy across the EU to up to 27percent will hold. But how seri-ously countries tackle thisproject will no longer be regu-lated within the plan. As of 2020at the latest — when the currentcommitment to further increasethe share of green energy expires— climate protection in the EUwill apparently be pursued on avoluntary basis.

Climate LeadersNo More?

With such a policy, the Euro-pean Union is seriously jeopar-dizing its global climate leader-ship role. Back in 2007, whenGermany held the EuropeanCouncil presidency, the body de-cided on a climate and energylegislation package known asthe “20-20-20” targets, to be ful-filled by the year 2020. Theyincluded:

A 20 percent reduction in EUgreenhouse gas emissions; rais-

ing the share of EU energy con-sumption produced from renew-able resources to 20 percent; anda 20 percent improvement in theEU’s energy efficiency.

All of the goals were formu-lated relative to 1990 levels. Andthe targets could very well bemet. But in the future, Europeanclimate and energy policy maybe limited to just a singleproject: reducing greenhousegas emissions. The Commissionplans also set no new bindingrules for energy efficiency.

Welcome, FrackersIn addition, the authority

wants to pave the way in the EUfor the controversial practice offracking, according to thedaily Frankfurter AllgemeineZeitung. The report says theCommission does not intend toestablish strict rules for theextraction of shale gas, butonly minimum health and

environmental standards. The plans will be officially

presented next Wednesdayahead of an EU summit meet-ing in March. Observers, how-ever, believe that a decision isunlikely to come until the sum-mer at the earliest. But actionmust be taken this year: At thebeginning of 2015, a climateconference will take place inParis at which a global climateagreement is to be hashed out.

The European Parliament isunlikely to be pleased with theCommission’s plans. Just at thebeginning of January, a strongparliamentary majority voted toreduce carbon emissions EU-wide by 40 percent by 2030 andto raise the portion of renew-ables to at least 30 percent ofenergy consumption.

Germany’s EnergyGoals at Risk

The Commission’s move fur-ther isolates Germany. Merkel’s

government, a “grand coalition”of her conservatives and the cen-ter-left Social DemocraticParty (SPD), seeks to increasethe share of renewables in thecountry’s energy mix to 60 per-cent by 2036. As reported in thelatest issue of SPIEGEL, SigmarGabriel, SPD chair and minis-ter of energy and economics, recently urged Climate Com-missioner Connie Hedegaardand Energy CommissionerGünther Oettinger to put forthmandatory expansion targets forrenewable energy in the EU by2030. Europe “can’t afford topass up this opportunity,” Gabrielwrote.

But within the Commission, the ambitious project has longbeen controversial. The samegoes for EU member states, asGabriel recently discovered.Prior to Christmas, the minister, together with eight colleaguesfrom throughout the EU, calledfor a “renewables target” in aletter to the Commission. Butsome countries, such as France, joined the appeal only hesitantly

at the time. Paris might preferinstead to rely more heavily onnuclear power in order to meetstringent carbon emission re-quirements.

Energy Commissioner GüntherOettinger, a German fromMerkel’s Christian DemocraticUnion, has also shown reluc-tance. Rather than setting cleargoals for the share ofrenewables, he wants fixed tar-gets only for the reduction ofcarbon emissions — and he isskeptical even of the 40 percenttarget proposed by ClimateCommissioner Hedegaard.

The Berlin-based German In-stitute for International and Se-curity Affairs (SWP) writes in arecent study that more moder-ate EU climate goals and lesssupport for renewable energiescould have a real impact onGermany’s so called Energi-ewende, or energy revolution.“In such a context,” writes thenonpartisan think tank, “it willbe increasingly difficult for Ger-many to successfully carry outpioneering policies.” ❏

pletely blocking the light of thesun) on March 20th, 2015 and fi-nally another partial solar eclipseon September 13th, 2015.

Why these solar events musthave something to do with the sunnot giving her light, as the scrip-tures say will happen at the Lord’sreturn; so it is believed by thosewho advocate the Four BloodMoons theory.

The excitement and fascina-tion, as advanced by Hagee andBiltz, continues. To add to the in-trigue, recent history pertaining totetrads falling on Holy Days re-veals that back in 1967-1968, thelast time of Four Blood Moons,as so called, occurred, the nationof Israel fought and won the Six-Day War. Then it is thought thebirth of the nation of Israel in1948, giving the Jews a homelandwas associated with the so calledFour Blood Moons tetrad whichoccurred in 1949-1950. Then go-ing back to 1493-1494, it isthought the expulsion of Jewsfrom Spain under Queen Isabellahad significance to a tetrad fall-ing on the day of Passover andSukkot. These are the surmisingsof the likes of Hagee and Biltz.

However, there were four othertimes in history the so-called FourBlood Moons occurred. 162-163AD, 795-796AD, 842-843ADand 860-861AD. What aboutthese four sequences? Any sig-nificance or earth shatteringevents happen to the inhabitantsof the earth or to the Jews or thechildren of Israel then? Nothinghas been specifically noted.

Nevertheless, putting all thesefacts together; four total lunareclipses (blood moons), JewishHoly Days, solar eclipses, andthrow in Bible verses relating tothe sun turning into darkness andthe moon into blood; well, youhave the stuff made for a movie,or at least a book.

Four totally eclipsed moonsthat will look like blood (sort of),or at least have a reddish hue tothem. Four full moons; total lu-nar eclipses occurring on fourJewish Holy Days. Add to themix, four solar eclipses of somesort within the same general pe-riod, in the years 2014 and 2015.Eight celestial (heavenly) eventsin all; events that were accuratelypredicted centuries ago by theJews and other calendar cultures,

will occur on thedates that havebeen firmly es-tablished. Celes-tial activity is cal-culable and pre-dictable as theheavenly move-ments are consis-tent and sus-tained. There willbe no surprises,no panic, and noheart attacks.

What was calculated to occur willoccur, on time, as known in ad-vance.

Yet because of Bible scripturessuch as Joel 2:30-31, Acts 2:20,Luke 21:25-26, Revelation 6:12,there are individuals who are nowteaching something is about tochange and prophecy will be ful-filled.

To cut to the chase, you can restassured the coming Four BloodMoons will not result in catastro-phe. There will be no earthlydoom or return of Christ. Notribulation, no spectacular arrayof heavenly signs, no destructionof the earth, earthquakes, nomen’s hearts failing for fear of thehorror striking the earth or theheavens.

Interesting fact: with regard toactually witnessing (viewing orseeing) these Four Blood Moons,it should be noted that of thesefour total lunar eclipses, three willnot be visible from Jerusalem.Only at the beginning of thefourth total lunar eclipse, on Sep-tember 27, 2015, will the resi-dents of Jerusalem see a some-what ruddy full moon. In addi-

tion, all four lunar eclipses willbe visible for approximately 3hours and 20 minutes. Again, hardly a display that would set thehearts of man in fear and dread!

Fear and dread; or lack thereof. That lies at the heart of the FourBlood Moons fallacy.

The soon coming solar and lu-nar eclipses to occur in 2014 and2015 hardly fit the description ofthe heavenly signs and celestialcalamity as portrayed by theprophets and Jesus Christ himself. To read the scriptures in contextpresents radically more intense

prophet Joel (cf. Acts 2:16).Notice Joel 2:30-31: And I will

show wonders in the heavens andin the earth, blood and fire andpillars of smoke, The sun shall beturned into darkness and themoon into blood before the greatand the terrible (glorious) day ofthe Lord.

The prophet Joel wrote addi-tional details about this event. Thesun and the moon shall be dark-ened and the stars shall withdrawtheir shining. The Lord shall roarout of Zion and utter his voicefrom Jerusalem and the heavensand the earth shall shake: but theLord will be the hope of Hispeople and the strength of the

mon, predictable eclipses we will(actually only certain areas on theearth and consequently onlysome of the inhabitants of theearth will) witness in the next twoyears.

No doubt, those who did theresearch, coming to the conclu-sion that something is about tochange, believe the Four BloodMoons have significance. Are wenow, yet again being entertainedby false prophets?

Remember Harold Camping, with the dates he predicted wouldbring about the end of the worldand the coming of the Lord? Those dates came and went andthe man was exposed for what hewas. Then of late, the world wasentertained with the date 12-21-12 and the end of the world (youknow, the Mayan calendar quan-dary). Again, to no avail and lifegoes on.

Of certainty, the prophecies ofthe Bible will be fulfilled andtheir realities will be completed. The sun will be disturbed byGod’s intervention and will notgive its light. The moon will bedisturbed and not reflect the sun’slight, so much so that it willlook blood red. God’s involve-ment with the aberrations of thesun and moon will be unmistak-able and will be noticed by allmankind.

When these events take place, the WHOLE WORLD will witnessthem and will be frightened to thepoint of induced heart attacks forthe faint hearted.

Will the soon coming FourBlood Moons, as called, be thesign to usher in the Day of the

conditions than the common pre-dictable lunar and solar activitywe will soon witness. The showof wonders (fantastic spectacles),as the Word of God reveals willhappen, in heaven will be farmore frightening at that time thanthe common eclipses we will wit-ness in the next two years.

Acts 2:20; the sun shall beturned into darkness and themoon into blood before that greatand notable day of the Lordcometh. These were the recordedwords of the Apostle Peter. Takenin context, we read and I willshow wonders in heaven andsigns in the earth beneath, bloodand fire and vapour of smoke(Acts 2:19). What Peter spoke ofhere was quoted directly from the

children of Israel (Joel 3:15-16).Consider the prophet Isaiah, as

he wrote about the same event.Behold the day of the Lordcometh, cruel both with wrathand fierce anger, to lay the landdesolate: and he shall destroy thesinners out of it. For the stars ofheaven and the constellationsthereof shall not give her light:the sun shall be darkened in hisgoing forth, and the moon shallnot cause her light to shine (Isaiah13:9-10).

If we are to take the Bible atits word, as the Word of God andthe truth of God, then the celes-tial events we read about are ofsuch immense d is turb ingproportions that it is rather sillyto think they can refer to the com- Continued next page

Lord and the return of Christ? The answer is NO and one way

we can prove it is by readingMatthew 24:29-30. Immediatelyafter the tribulation of those daysshall the sun be darkened and themoon shall not give her light, andthe stars shall fall from heavenand the powers of heaven shall be

shaken. And then shall appear thesign of the Son of Man in heaven:and then shall all the tribes of theearth mourn, and they shall seethe Son of man coming in theclouds of heaven with power andgreat glory.

Did you catch that? There mustfirst occur a time of tribulation. Then the heavens will be shakenand then the sun and moon will

be darkened.Four Blood Moons certainly

makes for intriguing reading andmay be worrisome to many aChristian. However, come Octo-ber 2015, the evidence will beclear (you can bank on it); theFour Blood Moons predictionswill result in another propheticflop, perpetrated by those who aremisled and who mislead. ❏

Mainstream Christianityinsists on teaching a doctrineof eternal torture by fire.

Does that sound like theGod of the Bible?

Do most Christians reallybelieve their departed lovedones are languishing inheaven or enduring thepurported tortures of hell?

How can these misconceptionsbe so prevalent when the Bibleis so clear on the subject?
