Electronic ArtsElectronic Arts (EA), a worldwide computergaming company, unveiled the state-of-the-artgaming mecca, EA Experience, on November2006. Located on the first floor of the revitalizedPeak Tower, EA Experience allows gamers andtravelers to experience gaming in immersionspaces that takes them beyond console play.

James Law’s design concept was to createzones of Cybertecture activities in EAExperience. The centerpiece is a virtual stadiumin the guise of a transparent egg interlaced withLED points, providing a stage for concerts,competitions and events. Wrapped around thisis a revolutionary interactive retail space, aswell as an upper deck containing interactivegame pods, games kiosks and driving simulations.

EA Experience features over 75 game stationsand was a unique and innovative showcase ofCybertecture gaming. The new EA Experienceoffers the ultimate in entertainment to gamersand non-gamers alike the opportunity toexperience the white-knuckle world of EAthrough different zones by entering intointeractive areas dedicated to The Sims, EASpeed Experience, EA Virtual Stadium and EAGame Stations, visitors become truly immersedin the highly-charged world of EA.

AMC Pacific PlaceSituated at the L1 floor of Pacific Place, AMCCinema Pacific Place was opened in December2006. James Law Cybertecture International isthe architect and conceptual designer behindthe newly renovated, state-of-the-art cinemacomplex.

AMC Pacific Place is markedly differentfrom traditional cinemas with its interpretationof kinetic spatial design which serves to blurthe lines between form and function. Theticketing box is no longer enclosed in aconventional glass box, but is more akin to



modern sculpture or the lobby of a chic boutiquehotel, protruding outwards to skilfullyincorporate the technology used to issuetickets. The cinema’s design has beenconfigured so that the moment patrons enter,they will be transported to a totally new cinemaexperience.

Inside, the walls of the Cybertecturedcinema comprises sculptural, organic shapesmolded together to form a U-shaped corridor,creating a journey of discovery at theentrances of each cinema auditorium. Thecinema’s design has been configured so thatfrom the moment patrons arrive, they are



transported to a totally new cinematicexperience.

An aerodynamic ceiling with a metalliccoating carries a river-like pattern which iscarried throughout the foyer of the cinema. Thesame pattern is also reflected on the floorfeaturing thin stainless steel embedded into thefloor to give a directional glance for theaudiences to the auditorium. Each theatre offersmovie goers the ultimate in design and luxury.The auditorium entrance is marked by a scribednumber set into the wall that is lit by LEDlighting, with all facets of signage reinterpretedas part of the architecture.





The six auditoriums have a capacity forover 600 cinema-goers. AMC Pacific Placeboasts Hong Kong’s best three-way SRD-EXaudio system for crystal clear soundreproduction. Comfort has clearly beenconsidered throughout the cinema’s designas each theatre has been upholstered withsumptuous French leather seats; and to top itoff, it is the only cinema in town with all-in-one washrooms to guarantee the utmostcomfort and privacy.

The VIP theatre provides seating for 39 andis the ultimate venue for intimate corporatereceptions and private parties. All seats measurea generous 1.2 m in width with plenty of legroom to spare. The VIP room creates a luxuriousspace that is clean and modern in design andfeel.

AMC Pacific Place is a breakthrough projectin design as the use of Cybertecture hereprovides audiences with the ultimate in comfortand luxury.

Palace APM CinemaThe design centers onto three to four majorspaces that have Cybertecture significance.The first is a multi-purpose space that containsticketing and AV product shop. The second isa cinema lobby that will have interactiveelements, concessions, a multimedia curtain,and sofa lounge area. The third is a female toiletusing private cubicle rooms for each customer.The fourth is a male toilet that will have cubiclesand urinals commanding a panoramic viewover the city.

The design includes colour kinetix lighting,human presence detection devices, cybercharacter control and host, fibre opticprojections, home automation devices andanimatronic presentations.

iPad Tower, DubaiJames Law Cybertecture International haslaunched the design of the iPad building inDubai for Omniyat Properties. The iPad buildingis a piece of Cybertecture that has architecturedesign inspired by the iPod in the form of a 26-storey luxury residential tower, and technologybased on Cybertecture designed by James LawCybertecture International. The design will berevealed to the public in early 2007.
