WE GATHER TO WORSHIP
The music of the Opening Voluntary draws us from the outside world into the presence of God. In preparation for worship, you are invited
to use this time for prayerful reflection.
OPENING VOLUNTARY

CHORAL INTROIT 1st Time - Children’s Choir 2nd Time - Congregation (Two Times)
CALL TO WORSHIP (from Psalm 149)
Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the faithful. Let Israel be glad in its Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King. Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre. For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with victory.

Stephen Ministry Therefore as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12 Paul reminds us that the church has a responsibility to care for the sick, the poor, and the widowed. Caring must go beyond good intentions. It involves actions. Stephen Ministers have been trained to care, to support, to listen, and to share. If you or someone you know would like a caregiver, please contact Janice Clark, 228-8584, or the church, 762-6688.

WE RESPOND TO GOD’S WORD
+HYMN 506 “Look Who Gathers at Christ’s Table!” COPELAND
+AFFIRMATION OF FAITH - from A Brief Statement of Faith
In life and in death we belong to God. Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve. With believers in every time and place, we rejoice that nothing in life or in death can separate us from the love of God in Jesus Christ our Lord. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. Amen.
OFFERING OFFERTORY ANTHEM “In Remembrance” Jeffery L. Ames Lux aeterna, Luceateis, Domine. Turn to me and be gracious for my heart is in distress. Oh God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me? My tears linger at night, but joy comes in the morning light.
+DOXOLOGY (606) OLD HUNDREDTH
Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
+PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING AND THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
CALL TO CONFESSION Brothers and Sisters, why do we confess our sin? Because all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. But why do we do it together? Because we are a community, a covenant people. PRAYER OF CONFESSION Eternal God, in every age you have raised up men and women to
live and die in faith. We confess that we have been indifferent to your will. You call us to proclaim your name, but we are silent. You call us to do what is just, but we remain idle. You call us to live faithfully, but we are afraid. In your mercy, forgive us. Give us courage to follow in your way, so that joined with those from ages past who have served you with faith, hope, and love, we may inherit the kingdom you have promised to your children...
SILENT PRAYER KYRIE MERBECKE Lord, have mercy upon us. Christ, have mercy upon us. Lord, have mercy upon us.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON Sisters and Brothers, our righteousness is found in Christ alone, a gift of God by faith. Beloved, believe the good news: Through the grace of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.
+CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE 447 “We Are Forgiven” WE ARE FORGIVEN
