Welcome…

On behalf of myself, the high committee of the conference and all staff

members of civil engineering department in Assiut University, I have the distinct

honor of extending to all of you my warm greetings.

This conference has a special taste as it is the first one to be held in the Civil

Engineering Department since year 1957 so we decided to make this great event to be

a great scientific and cultural festival. We invited distinguished and famous scientists

and persons from Egypt and all over the world to address the conference with

keynote lectures to enrich its sessions and to highlight the latest developments in the

various fields of civil engineering sciences. The conference sessions focus on

interesting topics that impact all of you. Such topics include subjects in Structural

Engineering, Irrigation and Hydraulics, Public Works as well as Environmental

Engineering. The conference proceedings include about 115 scientific papers

published in two volumes.

I would like to seize this opportunity to deeply thank prof.Dr.Mohammed

Raafat, the president of Assiut University for his continuous encouragement, interest

and support which have been critical to the conference success.
