Services are held at 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel and at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

EntrancesThe main business entrance to the church is now through the double doors under the porte cochere. Other church entrances will be open for Sunday services and other events.

FellowshipEller Hall will be the gathering place for fel-lowship after each service.

CHILD CAREChild care is available Sundays for infants, toddlers, twos, and threes during Sunday Services, Wednesday evening ministries, and other occasions as needed. Child care at First Presbyterian is always nurturing. Children explore the truths of God’s Word.

CongREgAtIonAL CAREBe reminded that Prayer Request Cards are available in the pews. If you, a family member, or a friend has a special need to be remembered in prayer, fill out this request card and drop it in the offering plate. Many things are wrought through prayer, and your church wants to help.

If you’re hospitalized, seriously ill or having surgery... please notify the church office at 483-0121. Your pastors want to minister to you whenever you are ill, and they can do that only if you inform us.

YOUTH NEWS

•CHILDREN’S CHuRCH is for kin-dergarten and first graders during the 11 a.m. service. The teacher will stand in front of the Sanctuary to escort the children to Room 116 at the start of the second hymn.

CRAVE – CRAVE will resume Sunday, September 9, from 5-7 p.m. YOUTH CAMPING TRIP is scheduled for September 15-16. No details yet. See Jonathan West for more.

First Prez Women’s EnsembleFall rehearsals will begin on Sunday, August 26th at 4 p.m.

Canticle RingersFall rehearsals will begin on Sunday, August 26th at 1:30 p.m. The Canticle Ringers’ first anthem for the church will be “For the Beauty of the Earth.” which was first performed in May.

The SALT Reading Group at 2 p.m., starting September 19thLauren Winner, the author of Girl Meets God On the Path to a Spiritual Life, is the daughter of a Jewish father and a lapsed Southern Baptist mother, and she grew up in Virginia in the limbo of being neither one nor the other. While in college, she became an Orthodox Jew but felt strangely drawn to Christ and to Christianity. This is the story of her road back. Both groups will be studying this book. The Goodreads website is a great place to shop for this book.Note: Be aware that this book apparently has an earlier edition titled “Girl Meets God: A Memoir.”

Wednesday Together Meals, New Meal Program Announced

All adult meals are $8 and will be catered. Children eat free. Only a few desig-nated people each Wednesday Together will bring desserts and other sides. Signup for each meal closes at 2 p.m. the Sunday before the meal. You only need to go online at www.firstprez.com to sign up if you’re new to Wednesday Together or need to cancel or change your standing reservation.Meal service is from 5-5:30 p.m. Children’s classes begin at 5:45 p.m.; adult classes at 6 p.m.
