Over the last decades, cognitive approaches have managed to combine varied viewpoints and renew our conception of practice and teaching in both disciplines. This Congress aims to dissemi- nate the latest developments in the field by integrating contributions from multiple fields. Communi- cations must refer to any of the following thematic areas. First, the cognitive processes area focuses on behavioral and neuroscientific studies on relevant linguistic and extralinguistic processes. Second, the didactics area addresses the educational implications of cognitive approaches in the field. Third, the technology area comprises contributions on different devices, methods, and software developed to assist practitioners and researchers. Fourth, the sociology area deals with the social function of transla- tors and interpreters, the ethical aspects of their work, and the scientific study of relevant phenomena.Finally, the sign languages areafocuses onthe specific problems of bimodal interpreting.Continuous developments in such areas have broadened our view of these particular forms of linguistic processing. We are part of a dynamic field expanding towards new paradigms and new horizons. Abstracts must be written in the box titled “Abstract” in the ABSTRACT SUBMISSION FORM.

Maximum length of 250 words.

They must be written in the language of presentation first and, afterwards, in English (or only in English).

Font: Times New Roman, size 12, single spacing.

Page size: A4.

Margins: Normal. Upper and lower margins: 2.5 cm; left and right margins: 3 cm.

File type: .doc, .docx, or .rtf.

Centered title, in bold-type upper case letters.

The name(s) of the author(s), the institution to which they belong, and their electronic addresses should appear under the title, aligned on the right margin in bold-type lower case letters.

Abridged CV (up to 100 words).

For abstract submission, send the ABSTRACT SUBMISSION FORM to the following e-mail address: [email protected]. The file name should follow this format: AREA CODE - SURNAME, NAME – 2017 CON-FERENCE ABSTRACT (uppercase). Example: COG - RUIZ, ANA – 2017 CONFERENCE ABSTRACT.
