Here is a list of supplies for VBS. Items can be purchased or borrowed (such as the fog machine). Please label any items that are borrowed and need to be returned. Supplies can be turned in to the volunteer desk or delivered to the Children’s Ministry office on the second floor. This is the list:

If you, a family member, or a friend has a special need to be remembered in prayer, fill out this request card and drop it in the offering plate. Many things are wrought through prayer, and your church wants to help.

If you’re hospitalized, seriously ill or having surgery... please notify the church office at 483-0121. Your pastors want to minister to you whenever you are ill, and they can do that only if you inform us.

CoLumbARIumFirst Church is blessed to have a Columbarium, an area reserved for the inurnment of a deceased’s cremated remains. Set in the dignified and beautiful surroundings of a garden near the Historical Room, the columbarium is also a place for quiet meditation and prayer. Adjacent to the Columbarium is the church’s “Memorial Wall.” For information about purchasing a niche in the Columbarium or about the “Memorial Wall,” contact the Operations Director (483-0121 or [email protected]).
FLoWERsThe Sanctuary flowers on Sunday, May 14, 2017, were given to the glory of God and in loving memory of our mothers, Ellen Deaver Brantley and Myrtle Bunce Autry, by Kay and Wayne Autry.

EntrancesThe main business entrance to the church is now through the double doors under the porte cochere. Other church entrances will be open for Sunday services and other events.

Agape Pregnancy Support Services offers compas-sionate understanding and guidance, providing information, assistance and referrals to mothers-to-be. Donations needed include baby blankets, diapers, baby bottles, wipes, infant clothing and supplies. Bring items to the volunteer desk in Eller Hall.

VBS – Dates are June 19-23. Anyone interested in registration or volunteer-ing should contact the office or Britany Spivey.
CHILDREN’S CHURCH is for kinder-garten and first graders during the 10:55 a.m. service. The teacher will stand in front of the Sanctuary to escort the chil-dren to Room 116 at the start of the sec-ond hymn.
MISSIONS – The Middle School Mission to Raleigh is June 11-16. The Mexico Mission for adults and high school students is July 9-15. CRAVE on Sunday evenings is on summer break. Be on the lookout for special events and outings. Details to come. PRESBYTERIAN YOUTH COUNCIL appli-cations for 2017-2018 are available and are being accepted now. Applications will not be accepted later than August 1. Applica-tions are available on the presbytery’s web-site. The Buy A Block/Build A House program al-lows more people to participate directly in the Mexico Mission. Everyone is encouraged to buy blocks at $10 each. You can buy as many as you wish. In addition, we want everyone to fill out index cards with prayers and favorite Scriptures. Find donation envelopes in the pew racks and on tables around the church, where you will also find the prayer cards.

ScholarshipsAvailableMoney for students entering college this year is available from First Presbyterian. Details are still being formulated.Several scholarships are available, including money from the General Scholarship Fund here at the church. Applications are available at the church. Also, the Virginia McFadyen Rose Merit Scholarship for $500 is available now. It requires a 150-word minimum essay on how the money will be used for college. Deadline is June 1st.
