Introduction: Did You Know How Firefighters Get Injured On The Job?

Our group chose the topic of how firefighters get injured on the job. We found the information regarding Line of Duty injuries very compelling. Especially the fact that Firefighter injuries were approximately double that of civilian fire injuries. Additionally, an estimated one-third of Firefighter injuries came from non-fire related emergency scenes. The question of how, when, and where these injuries occurred and their frequency quickly gave us a motivation to pursue this topic further.

From the other topics available, we ended up choosing the topic of Firefighter Injury because of the serious threat that is poses not only to us, but to our fellows as well. Seeing that positive trends have been set in past years, we saw the need to explore it ourselves to serve that purpose of affirmative influence. We also saw the need to inform people of information that they were unaware of. Knowledge, with regards to incidents of potential injury, is of utmost importance.
