Highly customized pistol with almost all components other than the frame and slide have been replace with high grade target components including Clark custom barrel which is cut slightly longer than the standard length of 5”. The mainspring housing has been replaced with a military style one with a lanyard loop. Another unusual addition is the target adjustable tritium night sights.

The pistol is fitted with aftermarket ivory grips. There is a small chip in the left grip panel on the edge of the upper screw hole (reference Photo #6). However, due to the grip finish this appears to be a manufacturing flaw rather than damage and is not considered to significantly affect value or desirability.

Pistol was the personal weapon for then LTC XXXXXXXXX USA when was sent to the Saudi Arabia in 1991 as a part of Operations Desert Shield. He brought the pistol in its stock configuration, and following the war, he had the modifications made to the pistol.

While Series 80 Colts are not as desirable as the earlier Series 70 (and later as well since the Series 70 is available as custom shop gun), it is still a genuine colt with very nice modifications. Valuation was determined by by aggregation of Blue Book and market assessment of pistol plus modification parts & labor. Providence does not significantly affect value at this time.
