Needles: 4.5mm bamboo Provisional Cast On 34 sts Body of Scarf in Esparto Stitch (Mon Tricot stitch dictionary): The body of the scarf is knit by repeating these two rows to desired length. R1) K2 [border], *knit into second stitch on left needle, wrap yarn twice, and pull through leaving the stitch on the left needle; knit into first stitch on left needle and slip both stitches off to complete* , Repeat from *to* until last 2 stitches, K2 [border]. R2) P2 [border], Slip stitch, *purl into second stitch, wrap twice, leave stitch on needle; purl into first stitch and slip both stitches off to complete*, repeat from *to* until last 3 stitches, slip 1, P2 [border]. Provisional Cast On 34 sts

Body of Scarf in Esparto Stitch (Mon Tricot stitch dictionary):

The body of the scarf is knit by repeating these two rows to desired length.

R1) K2 [border], *knit into second stitch on left needle, wrap yarn twice, and pull through leaving the stitch

on the left needle; knit into first stitch on left needle and slip both stitches off to complete* , Repeat from

*to* until last 2 stitches, K2 [border].

R2) P2 [border], Slip stitch, *purl into second stitch, wrap twice, leave stitch on needle; purl into first stitch

and slip both stitches off to complete*, repeat from *to* until last 3 stitches, slip 1, P2 [border].

Knitting into the first (double-wrapped) stitch on needle. Keep in mind that

you want the double-wrapped stitch to open into a long stitch, so only knit

into one wrap.

Purling into the second stitch and double wrapping.

Purling into the first stitch. As you can count, there are two

border stitches, one slipped stitch, one double-wrapped stitch

and the new purl on the right needle.

R18 and all remaining WS rows) Slip1, P

R19) SpSK, YO, K3, K2tog, turn (one point should now be forming separate from the rest)

R 21) SpSK, YO, K2, K2tog, turn

R23) SpSK, YO, K1, K2tog, turn

R25) SpSK, YO, K2tog, turn

R27) Sl, K2tog, PSSO. End point.

Flame Points Two and Three (middle points):

R17) Join yarn. K1, YO, K4, K2tog, turn.

Repeat rows 18 – 27 as above.

Flame Point Four (last point):

R17) Join yarn. K1, YO, K5, turn.

Repeat rows 18 – 27 as above. Weave in all ends.
