Aims and ObjectivesThe course will develop delegates’ skills and knowledge to enable them to prepare, investigate and report afire investigation and to communicate / present evidence of findings of theinvestigation to stakeholders.

Units include: LI FI – 01 PreparationLI FI – 02 InvestigateLI FI – 03 ReportLI FI – 04 Present

At the end of the course the delegate will demonstrate:• An understanding of the science, technology and legal issues that informs a fire investigation• A comprehensive understanding of the investigative techniques and the current tools used in fire investigation• The ability to critically evaluate research and methods in the subject of fire investigation• The ability to present evidence related to fire investigations in court and at other hearings.

Please note: For this course there will be pre and post study work that will be required to be completed by allattendees.

The certificate from this coursemay, when successfullycompleted, be used as‘Recognised Prior ExperientialLearning’ (subject to discussionwith the university) towards theBSc (Hons) Fire and Rescuedegree, currently offered by theUniversity of Wolverhampton.This degree is available either fulltime, or part time at the universitycampus in Wolverhampton, orpart time distance learning. It isavailable in two variants, eitherthe BSc (Hons) Fire and Rescue, or the BSc (Hons) Fire and RescueAviation variant.
