Fire India & Safetyex exhibition was held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, in Mumbai between 24th to 26th October 2013 and it was a resounding success. It was truly a most comprehensive and mammoth representation of the entire fire and safety industry and helped to bring together all relevant stakeholders like manufacturers, suppliers, traders, academicians, industry professionals and industry leaders, under one roof. The events were truly unique, as they had many add on features which were not only unique in terms of their content but also provided value additions. Some of them were conferences, buyer-seller meets, open display area, safety theatre and product showcase theatre which made it a truly interactive forum. The exhibition attracted over 200 exhibitors from 23 countries across the globe and all the latest products/technologies were on display.

There were two independent conferences held alongside the exhibition. The Institution Of Fire Engineers (India) had organized a three days conference whose central theme was “Fire Risk Mitigation – The Global Trends”.

The Safety Appliances Manufacturers Association (SAMA) had also organized a focused one day conference whose theme was – Building Together A Safe Future.

The Institution Of Fire Engineers (IFE) conducted a three day international conference, which was an integral part of the Fire

India & Safetyex 2013 exhibition. This mega event was a rendezvous for manufacturers, specialists & technocrats. Key issues

of interest were deliberated upon & addressed to ensure technical development & spread of knowledge as also exchange of

views based on field experiences.

The theme of the conference was “Fire Risk

Mitigation: The Global Trends”. Around 500

delegates participated in this event which saw

more than 46 technical papers being

presented by a wide cross section of industrial

experts. Some of the themes covered were

active and passive structural fire safety,

industrial fire safety management, ground

operations and strategies and the

developments in fire engineering and

technologies.

The much awaited industry event was back with

focused business opportunities that allowed

enhanced business space to the fire

manufacturers, both in India and globally. The

event was inaugurated by Mr M.Shashidhar

Reddy, Vice Chairman, NDMA.

In his inaugural address, Shri Sant talked

about adopting a new culture of safety and

mentioned that safety would soon become

a very important differentiator for the

customer to choose a product or

technology. The other two important

differentiators being quality and price. He

further added that companies are already

integrating safety in their product offerings.

The conference saw many important

papers being presented which included

topics like systematic approach towards

safety & health, HSE : new legislative

provisions, roles and responsibilities of

statutory authorities etc.

This one day conference was inaugurated by Shri V.B.Sant, Director General, National Safety Council and the Guest Of

Honour was Shri J.M. Motghare of Directorate Of Industrial Safety & Health, Government Of Maharashtra.
