Overview

Open Options offers an end-to-end integrated FIPS 201-2 compliance solution with the HID pivCLASS® product family. DNA Fusion access control software interfaces with the pivCLASS® Authentication Module (PAM), registration engine and certificate manager to simplify overall compliance with the FIPS 201-2 standard at any assurance level.

Open Options DNA Fusion and partner products have been approved as FIPS 201-2 compliant, as it relates to PACS (Physical Access Control Systems) by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Open Options core products, including DNA Fusion, SSP-D2-FIPS, NSC-100-FIPS and RSC-2-FIPS, are on the GSA Approved Products List (APL) for use by any government entity.

What is FIPS 201-2?FIPS 201-2 (Federal Information Processing Standard Publication 201-2) is a US federal government standard that speci�es Personal Identity Veri�cation (PIV) requirements for federal employees and contractors.

How does FIPS 201-2 relate to access control systems?In 2013, FIPS 201-2 was released with PACS fully incorporated. Along with this came the Approved Products List (FIPS 201-2 APL). In relation to HSPD-12 requirements, our products that are on the current APL for FIPS 201-2 would meet that compliance.
