1948 was the starting point of free
school catering: Mainly soups,
porridges and thin porridge-type dishes
Average price for school food in Finland
is 2,62 /school day / pupil (2011)
More than 900 000 children and young people enjoy free school
meals at school on a daily basis.
There is a legislation and meals are part of our curriculum!

the students and the school staff
to refresh
Lunch provides pupils
with nutrition and energy
Helps pupils them maintain
a good working ability throughout
the school day.
School meals complete meals at home.
It is also promoting our food culture over generations!
