1946. Founded by four brothers soon

after World W

ar II in a small garage,

the company has grown to a m

odern,

160,000-square-foot production facility

on 20 acres, and employs 120 skilled

artisans. Descendants of the brothers

own and manage the factory today.

Adelphi produces two distinct types of custom cabinetry. The first style, sold under the Adelphi

brand name, is our fram

ed cabinets. We use the traditional Am

erican construction method that

features true Mortise & Tenon construction, as well as flush-finished furniture ends. These

cabinets are made to the custom

er’s specifications in 1/8” increments, and have 3/4” solid-wood

front framesand all-plywood sides, tops and bottom

s. You can choose up to five different dooroverlays – beaded or flush inset, standard offset, m

arginal and full overlay.

Adelphi’s frameless cabinets are sold under the brand nam

esRidgewood and W

hitebrier. This style incorporatestheEuropean

32-millim

eter construction method. Cabinet

doors for both brands feature full overlays and concealed

hinges. Ridgewood cabinets are made of

all plywood, and have 3/4” sides, tops and bottoms.

Whitebrier cabinets have a wood-grained m

elamine

interior andare available in several choices of

wood exteriors.

All Adelphi cabinet styles feature a true dovetailed 5/8” solid m

aple drawer box. Alldrawer glides are full-extension underm

ounts.Drawers are self-closing, utilizing a m

etal-ballbearing slide m

echanism. Shelves are adjustable

in increments of a little m

ore than an inch, and arem

ade of a strong, birch-veneered particleboard core that significantly reduces sagging.

We finish all our cabinets with high-solids conversion

varnishesthat provide durable, m

ar-resistant protectionand will m

aintainthe beauty of your cabinets for years. Stains are available in a variety of

colors and are always hand-applied to accentuate the natural grain of the wood.

Sometim

es called 3/8” offset by other manufacturers, this style uses a door with a

lipped edge that has a “rabbet” on the rear of the profile. This results in half of the 3/4”door thickness being recessed into the cabinet fram

e, leaving 3/8” exposed. The door covers 1/4” all around the cabinet fram

e opening, meaning doors and drawers will be

a total of 1/2” wider and higher than the frame opening. Cabinet uses 1 1/2” fram

LAYThis style has the doors and drawers lying com

pletely on top of the face frame. The

entire edge profile and 3/4” thickness is visible. The door covers 1/2” all around the cabinet fram

e opening, meaning doors will be a total of 1” wider and higher than

the frame opening. Drawer fronts follow the sam

e procedure. Marginal overlay utilizes

1 1/2” cabinet framing widths by default. See illustration shown to the left.

This style also has the doors and drawers lying completely on top of the fram

e. The entire

edge profile and 3/4” thickness is visible. Door and drawer sizes are not based on cabinet openings, but rather on using “reveals” around all of the fronts.• At the top of walls and base cabinets there is a reveal of 1/4”.• At the bottom

of walls and bases there will be NO reveals.• At the left & right edges of all cabinets is an 1/8” reveal, so when cabinets are butted

together it will maintain the look of 1/4” reveals. Fram

ing is 1 1/2” wide with the exception of outer stiles being 1 1/4” wide, and certain center stiles on m

ulti-door cabinets are 2 1/2” wide. See drawing shown to the left.

In these styles, the doors and drawers are flush inside the face frame. None of the edge

thickness is visible. We offer inset in two flavors, beaded inset or flush inset. Beaded

inset uses a 1/4” bead applied to the inner edge of cabinet openings that have doors/drawers.Flush inset is sim

ply flat edged cabinet frames like on our other styles. Beaded inset uses

1 1/4” framing throughout. After construction, the 1/4” bead is applied to the openings.

This makes outer pieces 1 1/2” and the center, cross pieces yield out to 1 3/4” wide. See
