THE FOURTH AND MOST RECENT superyacht built by German-owned premier luxury yacht builder SilverYachts in Western Australia is the 77-metre Silver Fast – the most advanced, eco-fuel-efficient vessel in the ground-breaking Silver series.

Designed by the famed Espen Øino, Silver Fast retains the super-sleek contour and unique hull lines of her much-prized predecessors, but with a striking new all dark silver paint.

Silver Fast was named Finest New Yacht at the Monaco Yacht Show, where she was displayed for all to see in the heart of the harbour at the Quai Rainier Ier.

At 77m (252.6ft) and a top speed of 27 knots, Silver Fast is the world’s largest and fastest aluminium motor yacht with conventional propulsion, in terms of length-to-speed ratio.

This remarkable performance was demonstrated on her recent 11,000-nautical-mile delivery from Perth to Monaco, with a stopover in the Gulf. She completed her maiden voyage seamlessly and efficiently at an average speed of 17 knots, with fuel consumption of 400 litres per hour.

“The external appearance of a yacht is to a large extent determined by its internal volumes and the distribution of these,” says Øino. “In the quest for speed with low consumption and therefore efficiency the volume distribution of Silver Fast is arranged longitudinally rather than vertically (and thus transversally for stability reasons) as is the case with most yachts today.”

This year, SilverYachts made its debut presence at Asia’s most important annual yachting event, the Singapore Yacht Show.

“We chose to participate at SYS 2015 as we know there are plenty of potential buyers in the region, and we are impressed with the growth and calibre of visitors to this event,”

says SilverYachts Owner Guido Krass. “Our yachts are ultra-modern in design and aesthetic but also in technology and operation. We know they will appeal to the dynamic, vibrant clientele in Asia and the Singapore Yacht Show is clearly the proven platform in the region for accessing those individuals.”

SilverYachts Director of Sales Jona Kan likens Silver Fast to a racing car, rather than a large limousine. “She is a super sleek, eco-friendly modern yacht whose construction and design give her ocean-going capabilities that push the boundaries of yachting,” he adds. “We believe that Asian yacht buyers will be impressed with the simplicity, efficiency and speed of this yacht.”

At 18-20 knots the yacht is quiet and vibration-free, making her perfect for fast and fuel-efficient long overnight passages with low noise levels of around 40/45 decibels. The sleek hull cuts through the water, resulting in zero slamming in 1-2m head seas.

In August, Mercedes Benz joined forces with SilverYachts to produce a film in Monaco featuring the new iconic S Class Convertible atop the bow of Silver Fast. The film and the car had their debut in September during the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2015.

Remarkably, the new S Class Convertible was positioned on the helipad of the yacht with only the handbrake on to keep the car in place while speeding through the waters at 20 knots. This film was shown at the Monaco Yacht Show and is available on the SilverYachts website.

The launch of Silver Fast has also attracted more than 8,000 followers for SilverYachts on Instagram.

Designed by Germany-based Andreas Holnburger of Vain Interiors, the layout comprises of Owner’s suite with lounge and large private deck; three double VIP guest cabins, one double guest cabin and three further twin cabins.

The sundeck features an outdoor cinema and a glass-fronted eight-person Jacuzzi, and the expansive beach club is complete with

Based within the Australian Marine Complex, in Henderson, Western Australia, SilverYachts (formerly Hanseatic Marine) commenced operations in 2005 and has become one of the world’s leading superyacht builders.

A member of the exclusive Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss), SilverYachts works hand-in-hand with world-renowned naval architect and designer Øino, an expert in combining state-of-the-art design with performance and fuel efficiency.

SilverYachts operates out of purpose-built facilities occupying more than 6,000 square metres, including two major shipbuilding halls, a fit out hall, workshop spaces and design offices.

The yard is currently working on its next project under construction, the 84.5m Silver Loft that was shown in Monaco with a large-scale yacht model and renderings at the stand.
