Getting to the Lake Auditorium

The Lake Auditorium is located on Vennelyst Boulevard 8, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark.

Bus

This map shows part of the University Park. The Lake Auditorium is circled in red and the three bus

stops closest to it are circled in blue and labelled by name.

The bus stop closest to the Lake Auditorium (top right) is called “Aarhus Universitets Hospital,

Nørrebrogade” – Aarhus Universitetshospital is often abbreviated “AUH ”. There is a 5 minute

walk from there to the auditorium. The following busses all stop at “AUH, Nørrebrogade”, and

there is a link to each of their schedules below:

o 17 (Studstrup)

- “Ny Munkegade/Fynsgade”

o 13 (Vejlby Nord)

- “Nørreport” (This stop is a little further away than the others, which is why it is not on the

map above)

o 20 (Åkrogen via Chr. X's Vej)

Crossing Nørrebrogade

If you get off the bus at the stop “AUH Nørrebrogade”, head to the right and walk approx. 50

metres until you reach the Aarhus University Hospital name on the brick wall. The words “Midt -

region midtjylland” will be displayed next to the name in large white letters. If you turn left at the

name, you will find a set of stairs to your right. These stairs lead to a tunnel that goes under the

street and comes out on the other side. Once through the tunnel, continue straight ahead, and the

auditorium will be right up ahead. Go around the left side of the building to find the entrance and

the registration desk.

Bicycle

Aarhus is one of the safest cities to cycle in, and many people choose to take advantage of the city’s

many cycle tracks. Cycling to the Lake Auditorium from the centre of town takes approx. 15-20

minutes and is a good way to explore the city.

On foot

Much of Aarhus is clustered together in the heart of the city, so most of the city is within walking

distance. Walking to the Lake Auditorium from the centre of town takes approx. 35 minutes.

At the Auditorium

The Lake Auditorium (called “Søauditorierne” in Danish) is located in the University Park, building

no. 1251-1253. The programme takes place in four rooms, all of which are located inside the same

building.

- Eduard Biermann on the 2nd

floor

- Merete Barker on the 2nd

floor

- William Scharff on the 2nd

floor

- Per Kirkeby on the 3rd

floor

The building has several entrances, but we recommend using the entrance to the left of the terrace

(on the side facing away from the lake) since this is where the registration desk will be.

Useful Links

AU Find

AU Find is a web app by Aarhus University that can be used to locate the different buildings and

departments. All the addresses are shown on a map and they are integrated with the Google Maps

Directory. Simply type in the building number or name, and the address you’re looking for will be

shown on the map. AU Find can also show parking, busses, etc. in the vicinity of the building you

wish to find.

Rejseplanen

Rejseplanen is a journey planner web app that helps you find out which combination of public

transport best matches your journey by incorporating bus and train schedules, as well as the traffic

in your area.

You can use it to make time-efficient sight-seeing plans, to figure out how to get around in Aarhus,

and to plan your trip to the airport.

Midttrafik

Midttrafik is responsible for the bus transportation options for the Central Denmark Region in

Jutland. On their website, you can find information on the different bus plans, and which kind of

bus tickets you will need, as well as how to purchase them.

Tickets

The type of ticket you will need depends on a number of factors, e.g. where you are travelling to

and your age. You can use the Ticket Guide to help you determine what type of ticket you will

need.

There is a system of zones in place in Central Denmark, and most travel in and around Aarhus is

located within a 2-zone radius. You can check the number of zones in your journey in the link to

Midttrafik above.

For those planning on using bus travel a lot, multi-trip tickets are more economic than single-use

tickets.

InnovateFood 2017 – Find Us

There are also several special options for tourists:

- The Tourist ticket, which offers unlimited travel by bus in the city of Aarhus or all of the

Central Denmark Region for 24, 48, or 72 hours.

- The AarhusCARD, which grants you free admission to more than 20 museums, attractions,

and activities in and around Aarhus. With the card, you get discounts on shopping and free

admission to the city’s public swimming baths and skating rinks. The card is valid for 24,

48, or 72 hours.

- The AttractionPASS, which grants you free admission to more than 40 museums,

attractions, and activities in Central Denmark Region. With the card, you get discounts on

shopping and free admission to the city’s public swimming baths and skating rinks. The card

is valid for 24, 48, or 72 hours.

Night busses require double ticket tax, meaning you will need to purchase an extra night bus ticket

as a supplement to some of the abovementioned ticket types.

Read more about ticket options here.

Purchase

Tickets can be purchased online and printed out, or bought in the Midttrafik app, which is

downloadable from the App Store or Google Play. The AarhusCARD and the AttractionPASS are
