Research Program Building / Leadership

7/2001-2015 Resident Research Coordinator, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. I work with the Obstetrician and Gynecology residents interested in academic medicine to develop a research project to be completed during their residency. I either act as their research faculty or direct them to other faculty with interests in their area. Initially when resident research was required, I also ran the resident Research Day Forum.

7/2007-2015 Fellowship director, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Maternal Fetal Medicine Program. I run the MFM fellowship program, assuring all fellows a trained in both the clinical and research realm. I work with each fellow assuring they have a research thesis project required for graduation as well as several other research presentations and publications. I also assure our fellowship meets ABOG requirements so the fellows are “board eligible” at completion of their fellowship

7/2013-2015 Global Health research mentor, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. I work with the medical students working on their M.D. with a Distinction in Global Health. I help develop research projects that they then implement internationally, culminating in a Capstone presentation and manuscript.
