Accounting (M.B.A.)This program teaches the latest theories of accounting and helpsstudents hone their business skills. Flexible scheduling, dynamicnetworking, personal advising and convenient location make this anideal program for professionals to gain an edge in the marketplace.

Accounting (M.S.)Students and professionals alike will benefit from the expertise and insights of the experienced accounting educators in thiscomprehensive master’s program.

Computer Science (M.S.) (blended format)This program prepares students to excel in a dramatically changingfield. The curriculum supplements core concepts with a focus on designand development of large software systems. Students lacking a computerscience background can make up required coursework and are encouragedto apply. This program is available in a blended learning format,which combines online instruction with traditional classroom studies.

Human Resource Management (M.S.) (blended format)Endorsed by the Society for Human Resource Management, thisprogram provides the necessary foundation and advanced skill set forgraduates to embark on successful careers as human resource managersfor private companies and public agencies. It is available in a blendedlearning format, which combines online instruction with traditionalclassroom studies.

Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.)Our M.B.A. program offers concentrations in finance, internationalbusiness, management, human resource management, managementinformation systems and marketing. The program is designed for theworking professional or job seeker who wishes to attend classes in theevening and on weekends.

Master of Public Administration and Master in HealthAdministration (M.P.A.)Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairsand Administration, the M.P.A. program prepares students formanagerial positions in government, non-profit and healthadministration. Specializations are available in health-careadministration, health-care management, health-care policy andaging/long term care.

Taxation (M.S.)This master’s is ideal for practicing CPAs, attorneys or individualswith undergraduate accounting training who wish to better positionthemselves for careers as tax professionals.

NASBA-Approved Continuing Professional Educationfor CPAsThe Department of Accounting and Taxation at LIU Brooklyn isregistered with the National Association of State Boards ofAccountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professionaleducation on the national registry of CPE sponsors.

NYS Department of Citywide Administrative ServicesCourses (NYC Employees only)Courses are available through the New York State Department ofCitywide Administrative Services on the evenings and weekends at the department’s training center.

Advanced Certificate in Gerontology AdministrationProfessionals at agencies that serve senior citizens will learn the latestregulations and gain advanced training in caring for and managingorganizations that care for the aged.

Advanced Certificate in Human Resource ManagementDesigned for students entering or who wish to advance in the humanresource management field, this certificate provides the professionalcompetencies outlined by the Society for Human ResourceManagement. Students may enhance their skills and abilities bycombining the certificate with another degree, such as the M.B.A.

Advanced Certificate in Geographic Information Systems(online)This online program is designed for students nationwide who areinterested in creating mobile applications on devices such assmartphones and tablets. The goal of the program is to provide theknowledge and practical skills in geographic information systems(GIS), computer programming and network technology necessary tobecome effective application developers. This is a multidisciplinary,advanced certificate program on mobile GIS that focuses on theintersection of two high-growth industries: geospatial technology and smartphone/web applications development.

Advanced Certificate in Non-Profit ManagementThis certificate is designed for professionals who work at non-profitorganizations. Students may take these courses for graduate credit toapply toward an M.P.A. degree.

UN Certificate/Master of Public AdministrationLIU Brooklyn offers a New York State-approved collaborative programthat lets students complete a United Nations Advanced Certificateand earn an M.P.A. Students gain an overview of the UN system withthe certificate and may subsequently transfer to the M.P.A. program.
