PLACEMENT REPORT 2018EDHEC FINANCIAL ECONOMICS - CLASS OF 2017

#2 FACTS AND TRENDSContinuous improvement of placement for the Financial Economics graduates

Placement for the Financial Economics class of 2017 continues to improve from both a qualitative and quantitative perspective thus demonstrating a strong attractiveness of our students highlighted by a meaningful level of interest from top tier 1 financial institutions and corporations with:

An even more pronounced bias towards international opportunities as 54% of graduates start their career outside their home country in 28 different countries.

A rise in permanent positions characterized by a very large proportion of students (91%) securing CDIs, VIEs or Graduate Programmes.

Besides these qualitative aspects, the volume and promptness of the placement of the 2017 FE class gained momentum with:

53% signing a contract before leaving school and 94% within 6 months.

The overall placement also remains very evenly distributed with the bulk of graduates attracted by careers in banking and financial markets (39%) closely followed by financial advisory (30%), asset management (12%), finance, management control and accounting (8%) and consulting (5%).

We are eventually yet to see a potential impact of Brexit for opportunities in the UK and large institutions remain the main objectives for graduates as we are not witnessing a surge in opportunities secured within fintechs.
