The National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (NFJPIA) is the only legitimate counterpart of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) with more than 60,000 constituents all over the archipelago, 270 accredited local chapters from 13 different regions. Since 1983, NFJPIA has ranked among the best organization in the country that serves as a conduit of academic excellence, home of tomorrow’s leaders, and training ground for future professionals. NFJPIA was estab lished through the realization of the need for an organization to serve as a medium of expression and aspiration; promote and protect the welfare and interests of accountancy students and the accountancy profession; nurture a dynamic and a responsible studentry; and strengthen the common tie that binds the accountancy students together. In this regard, NFJPIA has been working consistently to keep its members updated of the issues and trends that promote professional development, camaraderie and maintain the tradition of academic excellence. One activity, which gathers all future accountants in the Philippines, is the 15 th NFJPIA National Mid-year Convention, which will be held on October 23-26, 2012 at D’Leonor Hotel: Inland Resort and Wave-pool, Davao City. This year’s theme is LEAD and TRANSCEND: ”Excelling Efforts to a Bigger Better and Empowered NFJPIA”, Attending delegates in this convention would be representatives from different local chapters, advisers, school deans, and faculties from schools across the archipelago and guests from the country’s top auditing firms. The stay-in conference intends to impart to the delegates the concepts of leadership, character building and sense of national pride and vision. It will also introduce them to the concepts, practices and operational tools of group dynamics for their self-improvement and preparation as future professionals and leaders of the country.
