Finances & Scholarships Gaining independence in college is great—and challenging, especially
when it comes to finances. This issue of First Year @ USI will provide
you with information on scholarships to cover school expenses and
provide you with other resources to use your money responsibly!
What's the deal with Credit?
We’ve all heard about the horror stories of students going off to
college and getting too many credit cards while racking up a bunch
of debt. While credit cards can be bad—they can also be really good!
Credit cards can help you establish a credit score (good or bad
depending on how you use your card).
What's a credit score and how do you get it?
The more responsible you are with your credit card, the better your
credit score will be. Read this blog post that explains how to get your
credit score. Credit scores are important when it comes to taking out
a loan, or wanting to rent an apartment—which can affect you in the
next year!
WANT A FAST WAY TO KEEP TRACK OF YOUR MONEY?

"You can't get this information anywhere else."
"I just need your credit card or bank account number to hold this scholarship."
"We'll do all the work."
"The scholarship will cost some money."
"You've been selected" by a "national foundation" to
receive a scholarship - or "You're a finalist" in a contest you
never entered.
