IntroductionDue to a variety of economic and political reasons the last year has proven to be a challenging year for the labour market in South Africa. It seems that companies are holding off increases and incentives for 2021 to see what will happen with the economy.
Jobs have been cut and we have found that companies, especially the smaller companies, have frozen new hires and instead are combining jobs. It has been seen that the strongest hiring prospects are in the Finance, Business Services and Manufacturing sectors mostly with in the larger size employers, while medium and micro firms are trimming their payrolls.
