The bus network represented on this map shows an expanded

level of service that has not been seen on the streets of

Nashville for many years.You can count on further

improvements in the year ahead as the MTA adds more new

buses into its fleet.

In the past year,the MTA has successfully implemented a new

fare collection system,introduced 25 new buses,and updated

its information signage.Continued improvements,including

bus stops,communications,and more frequent route service

are all part of a five-year capital improvement plan.

GENERAL INFORMATIONBus StopsMost MTA bus stops are marked with a blue and white sign. If bus stop signs have not yet beeninstalled on your bus route, please go to the nearest intersection of the street traveled by yourbus and flag it down when it comes in sight.The main transfer bus stops are located at the MTA’sDowntown Transit Mall between 4th and 5th Avenues (Shelters A, B, C, and D), and the NanceLandport located on Demonbreun Street at 6th Avenue South.

Destination SignsEvery MTA bus is marked with a route number as well as the destination name or area. AllExpress Routes are designated by an “X” following the route number. As you get on an MTA bus,if you have questions about where the bus is going, please ask the driver.

Transfer PolicyThe cost of a transfer ticket is 10 cents and each transfer is good for 30 minutes or the nextconnecting bus.The transfer must be purchased on an inbound bus and cannot be used on thesame route. An extra 25 cents is charged with a transfer on express routes.

Park-n-RideSeveral bus routes provide Park-n-Ride service that allows you to park your car and ride an MTAbus. MTA passengers are permitted to use Park-n-Ride lots as complimentary services by ownersof the lots. Please refer to the list above the system map or on the route schedules for locations.

Services for Seniors or People with DisabilitiesSeniors (age 65 and older) and People with Disabilities qualify for a reduced MTA fare of70 cents on MTA buses with one of the following ID cards: Seniors – MTA Golden Age, Medicareor driver’s license, Disabled – Medicare, MTA Special Service, or other transit ID card for thedisabled. Passengers whose disabilities prevent them from using the large MTA buses may qualifyfor special door-to-door van service through the MTA AccessRide program. Please call the MTAAccessRide Office at (615) 880-3970 for more information, or visit www.nashvillemta.org

RideShare ServicesThe MTA RideShare program offers employer and individual assistance in setting up employer-based RideShare programs.This service also can match individuals with others who areinterested in participating in carpools or vanpools. If you are interested in joining a carpool orvanpool, or obtaining an MTA leased van to start your own vanpool, please call the RegionalTransportation Authority Office at (615) 862-8833 for details.
