2011 SPRING NEWSLETTER Camp Encounter • RR1, site 21, box 4• Gunn, ALberta T0E 1A0 • 780.976.2548 WELCOME TO OUR NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Hello Everyone, I am thrilled to be here! Sunny (my Golden retriever) and I have just traveled from Ontario and have mostly settled into our new home at Camp Encounter. This is my 42nd year playing at camp and I look forward to a new adventure at Camp Encounter. I have enjoyed directing Camps in British Columbia, Ontario and Nova Scotia and look forward now to Alberta. You know you are at camp when you find a deer leg in your living room and sundry bones on your front lawn, thanks to Sunny! She is also on constant squirrel patrol, so she has taken on her duty at camp as well. She and Buddy have become friends and also Ginger the cat. My initial focus is to ensure the continued success of the camp and some updating of the kitchen and facilities in the area of health and safety. I have already enjoyed being a part of the great programming going on here and the warm and friendly spirit the camp has to offer. I look forward to meeting and working with the Camp Encounter family as we set new and wonderful goals for the future. Thanking you in advance! WELCOME TO OUR NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTORHello Everyone,

I am thrilled to be here!

Solstice Summer Programs CoordinatorEveryone should do what they love as much as possible, and since I love young people, music, friendship, crafting, acting kind of wild, nature, games, bannock, singing, going on adventures, and quite a few other things, camp is the perfect place to do what I love all summer long.-Solstice

PonchoLifeGuard/FirstAidI’m so excited to be back for my 5th summer! You’ll see me around with band-aids and a smile, or watching the lakefront as the lifeguard. -Poncho
