Game Overview

I intend to produce a 3rd person action adventure game to play on PC or Mac using the

mouse and keyboard or joystick. It will be a mixture of dialogue based action, problem

solving, and fighting scenarios. The game will have a ranking system that will add to

either the good or bad alignment of your character. With different choices in the dialogue

your characters responses will dictate which category will receive the points. Your magic

abilities will change depending on your alignment. In the later stages of the game the

items you receive will change depending on your alignment. The way certain non-

essential characters react to you will change. And your characters general appearance will

change depending on your alignment. The player will have 6 options of character styles.

There will be 3 male and 3 female characters to choose from. The characters will be a

mixture of races and body types. The player will be able to change the hair color/style,

name, and beginning clothes. There will be character introduction movies, cut scenes, and

level ending/beginning movies included in the game. When your character is engaged in

battle mode you will have the option of using your weapons or magic spells to attack

your enemy. When in conversation mode your character will only be allowed to pick one

of the dialogue options. In free roam mode your character will be able to explore its

surroundings or engage other characters in conversation.

Product Justification

With the home gaming industry stronger than ever and predictions for growth breaking

record profits, now is the best time to invest in a home video game. Temple Quest

combines multiple game playing styles with fully immersive visual and audio content

delivering a quality product to rival any on the current market. By investing in the

production of Temple Quest you will see a vision delivered with huge market and repeat

Temple Quest game possibilities.

• Justification as to why your idea should be funded and produced.

Target Audience

The target audience will be mostly males aged 13-45, but with the inclusion of female

character choices and the mixture of game styles, the audience will be expanded to

include the increasing female gamer market. The mixture of game styles will appeal to a

broader audience range than a typically single mode type game. There will be scenes of

violence and some simulated blood and will not be suitable for children under the age of

13. It will be produced in English and will be limited to English speaking gamers.

The Story

After choosing your character the game opens with a movie of you riding a horse in the

woods. As you ride at a steady pace a voice over tells your story; as a child of two you

were orphaned when your village was attacked by unknown assassins. You were hidden

by your Mother in the woods moments before her demise. You were rescued later by a

traveling group of wanders who were savaging the remains of your village. You were

taken across the seas to Aero’s were you spent eight years in an orphanage. At the age of

ten you were taken in by a farmer and moved to a far away village were you have spent

the last six years working and living peacefully. You stop for some water for you and

your horse when you see smoke in the distance coming from your village. You sense

something is wrong and quickly gallop home to investigate. When you reach your village

you have a flash back to your early childhood and the scene of destruction is the same as

when you were two. Your rush home and find your family slain. As you search the

wreckage you notice the slain invaders were the same that attacked your original village.

When the next mourning arrives you wake to find the village holy man standing over

you. He tells you of the King and his bloodthirsty quest to learn the secrets of the ancient

temples. He has been attacking villages for fifteen years searching for the descendants of

Ratuk and the Shaman who hold the secrets of the ancient magic. The holy man goes on

to tell you the Shaman have been hiding in the ancient temples scattered around the map.

You tell the holy man you will seek out the King and seek your revenge. The holy man

says you will need to gain strength and knowledge before you will be ready to face the

King. He suggests you seek out the ancient temples and gain the secrets of the ancient

magic and to speak with the Shaman in order to learn how to focus your mind so you can

use the magic. The holy man then gives you a bag of supplies, a sword, and a bow and

sends you on your quest. The last advice the Shaman gives before you leave is to keep an

Marketing Plan

As soon as a demo version can be released I plan to have it attached to similar selling

games. I would like too see the demo version included in the popular gaming magazines.

I would also advertise in those magazines. I would make sure G4TV is aware of the

game. I would include it in any expo’s that would serve my purpose.

• A simple marketing plan

17

Distribution Plan Roll out and production will be complete at the end of the 32 weeks. The game will be

distributed to all major retailers and independent shops. I would have the game available

via the internet on the official Temple Quest website.
