What is the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress? The Canadian Cardiovascular Congress (CCC) is the largest gathering of cardiovascular and allied health professionals in Canada. The Congress draws cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, researchers, nurses and other cardiovascular specialists from across Canada and around the globe and connects them with other members of the cardiovascular healthcare team. The CCC provides a broad spectrum of cardiovascular health professionals with current scientific information, accredited education opportunities and an ideal forum to connect with other cardiovascular health and care colleagues. This annual congress unites Canada’s cardiovascular community, from physicians to researchers, to network, learn and showcase the latest in research and innovations. CCC Objectives

1. Strengthen the Canadian cardiovascular care community.

2. Promote Canadian perspectives on cardiovascular sciences to a global audience.

3. Enhance opportunities for professional collaboration and networking.

4. Offer a highly visible platform to showcase research from early career investigators.

5. Develop the next generation of cardiovascular care leaders through mentorship and network growth.

6. Provide a forum for the discussion of public policy to strengthen cardiovascular care in Canada.

Qu’est‐ce que le Congrès canadien sur la santé cardiovasculaire? Le Congrès canadien sur la santé cardiovasculaire (CCSC) est la rencontre la plus importante de professionnels de la santé cardiovasculaire et de spécialistes dans des domaines connexes au Canada. Le Congrès attire des cardiologues, des chirurgiens cardiovasculaires, des chercheurs, des infirmières et infirmiers et d'autres spécialistes cardiovasculaires de partout au Canada et dans le monde, et les met en contact avec d'autres membres de l'équipe de soins de santé cardiovasculaires. translate the practice recommendations from the recently published CCS/CHRS Joint Position Statement on the cardiovascular screening of competitive athletes, allowing them to initiate a pre‐participation screening program (Cardiovascular Screening and Care of the Athlete Program) at their home institution;

identify 'Red Flags' associated with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, arrhythmia, and coronary anomalies in athletes, as well as manage and monitor athletes with implantable cardioverter‐defibrillators, ensuring these athletes are safe in their participation in high‐intensity and/or endurance sport; and

utilize novel concepts and experimental work associated with the non‐binary shared‐decision making approach to athletic cardiovascular screening in a practical clinical setting, particularly relating to sports participation, restriction, and/or return‐to‐play decisions.
