1. Measuring ROI of PR, Social Media and Content Marketing – New Tools and Approaches Conference Room 301

Brands invest significant dollars into PR, social media and content marketing, but how do you know if any of it is working? Measurement is a critical component of any marketing campaign, yet most marketers struggle with measuring their efforts across all channels. This session will discuss:

• Going online, how can you get a grasp on how your brand is performing across all channels (PR, social media, content marketing?)

• What kind of data and analytics do you need access to in order to measure effectiveness and evaluate ROI across all channels? Are share of voice and brand sentiment the best metrics?

• When it comes to PR, what metrics, aside from “amount of coverage,” should you look at?

• How can you tell if your brand is being talked about positively or negatively, and if your brand is present in important conversations?

• How accurate are automatic tools that measure share of voice and brand sentiment? Is it possible to do this manually and how time consuming is this?

• How often should you measure share of voice and brand sentiment? Once a month? Once a quarter? Once a year?

• There are a handful of free tools (e.g., Social Mention) that generate real-time mentions from across the web as well as more sophisticated tools (e.g. Radian6 or Cision.) What is the pricing structure of the paid tools, and what do they provide that free tools do not?

Moderator: Sherri Fishman, CFE, President, Fishman PRSpeakers: Desirae Franco, Director of Communications & PR, The Dwyer Group; Robert Pifke, Chief Marketing Officer, Real Property Management; KT Remus, VP of Marketing, Retro Fitness LLC

As the world becomes increasingly mobile, customers expect accurate and consistent local information at their fingertips whenever and wherever they are. According to a recent study from Google, one-third of all smartphone searches are local in nature and local searches are growing 50% faster than mobile searches overall. Knowing this, franchisors need to empower their franchisees with innovative technology, allowing them to deliver the best experiences for their customers and drive more local foot traffic through their front doors. By leveraging the power of location, franchise brands like

Changing the Narrative with a Franchising Awareness Program: @OurFranchise

There is a great misunderstanding about franchising among the public. The public is not aware of franchising’s contributions to the U.S. economy, the value of the franchise model to communities here and across the globe and why it is important for policy makers to support the traditional definition of franchising. Those who are attacking franchising are trying to redefine the franchise model. IFA Chair Aziz Hashim, a multi-unit, multi-brand franchisee and managing partner of NRD Capital, has been leading the charge to change the narrative about franchising. Through a new industry-wide awareness program, @OurFranchise, you will learn about new digital tools available to help you promote your franchise brand, connect with local customers, and recruit franchisees. By marketing franchising, we all benefit.
