ABOUT ME Hometown: Evansville, Indiana
School: Junior at Purdue University
Major: Electrical Engineering Technology
1st and 2nd terms at Berkeley Mentor: James Deloach
TABBI 1 Roller Top CardPurpose
• to improve the basis weight uniformity of the light weight surge materials produced on TABBI
Tasks• Update TABBI 1 cable schedule
• Create new drawings and update existing drawings in DRCS and AutoCAD
• Verify accuracy of AutoCAD drawings
Actuator Panel
TABBI Rewinder Thread Rope Purpose
• improve operator safety and ergonomics on the TABBI spoolers while performing the task of threading up.
Tasks
• Wrote ladder logic in RSLogix 5000 to control five motors using Powerflex 525 drives
• Created several RSView 32 screens that allow the operators to manually enable and disable the system
• Created a cable schedule for installation
• Created new drawings for the 525 drives and edited existing I/O drawings in AutoCAD
• Currently waiting on down time so that IMOCO can install pulleys and air control equipment.
BK2 Quench Air Box Actuators Purpose
• ensure BK2 quench box movement does not require operator intervention to position and ensure geometry is repeatable by installing a robust quench air box actuator.
Tasks• Created new drawings in DRCS and
edited existing drawings in AutoCAD.
BWE Panel, Slot 14
BK2,POWER INTERFACE, CONTROL I/O, ETHERNET
BK4 FULL POTENTIAL SPINNING
Purpose• support the Adult Care Cost Transformation
Initiative by providing Outercover at a competitive price while improving quality performance versus the current internally supplied material
Tasks• Edited tag names in RSLogix 5000 ladder logic for
the moving and fixed fans on BK4.
• Attended a vendor checkout in Lawrenceville, GA, to verify the functionality of the die heating and pipe heating panels for banks 1 & 2 of BK4 as well as the die cleaning panel
• Edited existing drawings and created new drawings in DRCS
Other Projects• Mill Lighting – created an excel spreadsheet of lighting throughout
the mill
• TABBI Reclaim – Created a motor list for the fans and rolls for the TABBI reclaim card machine
• TABBI 2 Process Mapping – Documented the doffing process of TABBI 2 to determine if there were any inefficient steps in the process. This information might be used for a future project to improve the efficiency of the doffing process for TABBI 1 & 2
