  • Description: These are three logos for a my fathers business that I designed. They are a regular logo, grey scale, and one with a color background.

    Programs: Adobe Illustrator

    Date completed: June 7th, 2015

    Instructor: Brother Reeder

    Course: Comm 130/Visual Media

Process: I first started off sketching any ideas that came to mind to create logos. I then chose three of the best ones and designed them in illustrator. After I was done creating the logos I had 10 people vote on which one they liked the best. This one you see came out with the most votes. I then made the logo into a grey scale and one with a color background. The message is to let consumers know that this logo represents a tile store.

  • Description:This is an event ad that was created in word for an up coming golf tournament.

    Programs: Microsoft Word

    Date completed: May 17th, 2015

    Instructor:Brother Reeder

    Course: Comm 130/Visual Media

Process: I first found the picture out of a magazine. I then scanned that image on to my com-puter and re-sized the image properly. I then continued to go into word and designed my flier. The message I wanted to get across is notify my viewers about an upcoming charity golf tournament. I used a triadic color scheme for my flier by using the lime, brick, and indigo colors. This image was found in a LDS living maga-zine. Its size was an 8x11. I had to bump it up to 200 ppi to scan into the compute to make it clearer.

  • Description: This is a brochure designed to advertise for a golf course.

Programs: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign, and Adobe Illustrator

    Date completed: July 11th, 2015

    Instructor: Brother Reeder

    Course: Comm 130/Visual Media

Process: The very first thing that I did was to come up with the right size and style for my bro-chure by using a piece of paper. I came up withe simple tri-fold design but decreased the size to a 54. I then started my design in In-design by creating grid lines to line up all my pages. After that I started on my logo in illustrator which can be found on the back page. I then found my images and edited them in photo shop so I could do a text wrap and a cut out for one of my pictures. I then put all my elements in In-design to come up with the overall design of my brochure.

  • Description: This is an inspirational message created with a montage of two photos and a spiritual quote.

    Programs: Adobe Photoshop

    Date completed: May 30th, 2015

    Instructor: Brother Reeder

    Course: Comm 130/Visual Media

Process: For this project I first found a quote from President Dieter F. Uchtdorf. Then I was able to find two pictures from the internet that I thought would go with the message the best.I first place the picture of the mountains and the sunset as my first layer. I then add the second picture of the rock climber and put a mask on the photo so I could blend it in with the first picture. I used 100% opacity on the edges to get rid of any part of the picture that I did not want and then went over the remaining with a 40% opacity to blend it more into the photo. I then went in add my message and used some effect on the wording to make it stand out more. The program I used was Adobe Photoshop.
