A short film, possibly using stop motion.

Synopsis of Idea (content, narrative, genre)

Stop motion short film, that focuses on the life of a teddy bear, from being bought to being thrown away/given to someone else. The genre is that of a memoir/slice of life and also live action. Ted is a small influence of my film and also a short film I saw recently called The Last 3 Minutes, by a cinematographer called Po Chan.

Target Audience? (demographic NOT age range)

The target audience of this film would be that of an overall audience ranging from young children to the elderly, both male and female. It is a film for everyone. The main target audience would be children.

Target Audience Needs?

I think that the audience would want a happy story of a young boy and his teddy bear, as this would be the presumption, but I will try to give it more emotion than just a happy story of a boy and his teddy. Furthermore another need of a stop motion audience is that of following a characters story, and finding out what is going to happen to the character.

How will your project meet the needs of your target audience? (Make reference to content you think will appeal to your target audience)

I think that the connection between the boy and the teddy will be emotionally connect the audience, and also the child like story will help the younger audience connect with it, meeting the audiences needs. I think they would want to experience joy, happiness, sadness and sympathy. As everything that happens to the teddy, people can relate to the feelings that it is feeling.

What production techniques will you use to realise your project?

For pre-production I will use story boards, powerpoint and Microsoft Word, for production I will use a Canon/Nikon HD camera to take the images. And for post-production I will use adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro. I will also be setting up certain scenes, changing the bear to suit the scene, and finding suitable places to film. Take pictures.
